Then don’t support him, but fact of the matter is, there aren’t enough Americans that can do IT jobs. Has nothing to do with want. I also work in the industry and we can’t fill positions because there are no qualified resumes.
This is a lie - I’ve been in IT for 15 years. And am watching plenty of qualified pros across all kinds of IT disciplines be replaced by H1B’s simply because they are cheaper.
Not only that - the qualified pros are being forced to train their unqualified replacements.
Many scads of documentation around the H1B fraud. The goal of this program is to replace american IT jobs with imported and offshored resources that work for about 40% of what Americans demand for these jobs. Pay attn. to Senator Sessions:

That's BS plain and simple...and if Cruz tries to push that type of crap he's gonna lose badly.
What you really mean is that there aren't enough people with the skills you want, willing to work for the salary you are offering. Increase the offering salary and you will find lots of qualified American citizens.
And there aren't as many Americans in IT as there could be, because the effect of H1B over decades has been to get smart teens to consider other fields instead.
“”I also work in the industry and we cant fill positions because there are no qualified resumes.””
Could you post candidate requirements and full job descriptions (including salary) for these unfilled jobs that can’t be filled by American workers?
If YOUR COMPANY can't find an American Citizen to fill one of your IT jobs, then YOUR COMPANY is not offering enough money for a qualified AMERICAN CITIZEN to take it.
YOU just want to pay minimal wages for a highly technical job.
So offer more money and then you can find the kind of applicant you are looking for. Quit trying to find slave labor overseas.
“Then dont support him, but fact of the matter is, there arent enough Americans that can do IT jobs.”
Total, unmitigated bullshit. I work as a contractor at IBM. I used to be an IBM employee until I was selected for a ‘resource action’. I have watched IBM fire experienced Americans and replace them with incompetents from offshore for years.
Fixed.
