I'm all in for Ted Cruz and blogging for him, just like I did seven years for Sarah Palin. I'm supporting Cruz for a number of reasons, one of which is I'm pretty sure Gov. Palin won't be running again this election cycle. Family is still her #1 priority, and I respect that.
When Cruz was in Alaska campaigning for Dan Sullivan, the Senator and Heidi spent some time with Todd and Sarah at the Palin house for dinner and conversation. Only they know what wassaid there, but I wouldn't bet against presidential politics as one of the topics of discussion. I'm prettty sure she will endorse him for president, but I have no idea when that will happen.
Here are links to most of the news articlesabout Ted Cruz since I strarted collecting them April 13th. I'm alsolaying the groundwork for a Bloggers for Ted CRuz blogroll which will be rolled out when a sufficient number of bloggers start supporting him. It's still early in the game.
I hope these links are useful to voters who want to lear more about Ted Cruz.

We need to change his mind on supporting Obama (of all people) with his Trade (TTP). I don’t understand how a conservative could be so close to Obama on this or anything. It is like he became a different person since he announced. Hanging out with gays, not showing up for work, supporting President Obama....none of these things he would have done before announcing.

Sure hope this works out better than Governor Palin did. She really burned a lot of people the way she handled the run up to and timing of her decision to no run for president. I supported her up until then, but after than, while she might be welcome in cheering on others, she’s damaged goods. Much like Ross Perot did himself in by stopping and re-starting his campaign back years ago. Anyway, Cruz has a fight on his hands against the media, GOPe, and a number of wannabe candidates that are out to get their 15 minutes. I’ve already donated more to his campaign than I did to candidates in full during the last two elections combined. I now want to see progress, clarity, and credibility. A nagging concern is his lack of participation in Congress. Not helpful he misses meetings and votes as we’ve now seen that used against him with some success. He protested Lynch, yet failed to actually vote, instead choosing a campaign activity. The “optics” are unhelpful and could start to define him. Well, it’s up to Cruz to be THE candidate or make this his 15 minutes. I sure hope he gets his act together and makes this real and also not pander himself into untenable corners.

He protested Lynch, yet failed to actually vote, instead choosing a campaign activity. In the Lynch debate, Cruz voted against cloture. When that failed, he bugged out in order to make a campaign event.
The failure of cloture meant that Lynch would be approved with or without Cruz' vote. There was no point in his staying for the inevitable defeat.

That is a nice political answer but optically bad and we have too many politicians doing the same. They find cover in the committee vote, sometimes accumulating competing viewpoints that they can trot out when convenient, but they then avoid the defining votes. Cruz should have voted, especially as the media and others were already noting his poor voting record. Yes, he’s a candidate for president, but he is also still a sitting Senator. Lest he wants to invite comparisons to Obama...

Yes, hes a candidate for president, but he is also still a sitting Senator. I'm a Texas resident. And I'd wager that few Texans in Cruz' camp have any problems with his skipping votes.
It's far more valuable to us that he be elected president than he participate in every Senate vote.
I'd also wager that, when his vote could make a difference on an important issue, he will go out of his way to be there.
After 54 yrs as a voter, I'm quite used to Senators running for President skipping votes. It's a fact of life. And generally necessary...

I agree with you, but the media is picking up on his vote skipping back before he became a candidate. I think it creates a disadvantage for him when the media, as they are already doing, point out the better voting records of other candidates. Worst is that he is at the bottom of the list of all current Senators.

“...but the media...”
Is there anything that you could imagine Cruz could do to convert the hostile media into (being overly optimistic here) simply unbiased reporters?
Not just Cruz, but *any* candidate on the political right is never, under any circumstances, going to be covered by an unbiased journalist. So why play that game?
There are folks out there who will vote however the TV tells them to. So instead of playing the media’s biased game, Cruz (or any other non-lib candidate) should just speak to the people directly and either ignore or marginalize the media’s agenda and “gotcha” questions. Don’t even look at the reporter, look straight into the camera and talk to “The People”. Thank the media for the opportunity and then turn to the camera or mic and get to orating and connecting with “The People”. Cruz can do that and he does it well. Walker seems to struggle with that concept and has become a flip-flopper playing the media’s game. Everyone else at this point are “also ran’s”.
Bottom line: The media, under no circumstances, are going to treat Cruz like they would a garden variety liberal dem. So, it is not in Cruz’s best interests to play their game. He should *usurp* the media every chance he gets and *use* them as he sees fit. Not the other way around. It should be a good campaign to watch.

I am supporting Cruz, for the moment, and have already contributed money to back up that choice. I have not drank the Kool-Aid, never really have for any candidate, so am open to and engage in discussion as circumstances present themselves. My biggest challenge with Cruz is his position on H1B. And, as noted here, his poor voting record.

Agreed. Cruz has an uphill battle with the media (and GOPe) and needs to take his case to voters directly. So far he’s avoided the flip-flops of Walker.
