See Hillary ride in a van! Watch her meet everyday Americans! Witness her ordering a burrito bowl at Chipotle! Which she did wearing shades, as did her chief aide Huma Abedin, yielding security-camera pictures that made them look (to borrow from Karl Rove) like fugitives on the lam, wanted in seven states for a failed foreign policy.
There’s something surreal about Hillary Clinton’s Marie Antoinette tour, sampling cake and commoners. But what else can she do? After Barack Obama, she’s the best-known political figure in America. She has papal name recognition. Like Napoleon and Cher, she’s universally known by her first name. As former queen consort, senator and secretary of state, she has spent a quarter-century in the national spotlight — more than any modern candidate.
She doesn’t just get media coverage; she gets meta-coverage. The staging is so obvious that actual events disappear. The story is their symbolism — campaign as semiotics.

Although Krauthammer’s words against Hillary are scalpal-like, the piece (as a whole) awakes a huge barf alert within me. It starts out funny, but it ends with more than a whiff of the inevitable.
I disagree with him on one point — over used word “message”. I offer “brand” as the most over used political description.

She’s had them chipmunk cheeks reduce a little. As well as eyelift/facelift, etc.
A couple of things, here, Krauthammer. I’m surprised that you didn’t posit that Hillary, by all appearances, is not in the best of physical shape.
Her eye:
Those sunglasses I thought, were more about that damaged eye, from the damaged head, in the damaging fall she took in one of her fine residences. It wasn’t that long ago, she was wearing those big clear lens glasses, for instance, at her, what-difference-does-it-make-now appearance, before the Benghazi investigative committee.
Physical condition:
As for her navigation and energy, Charles, you said she has great energy, implying she still has it. Well, she doesn’t have it anymore. Barring some rather miraculous change, she won’t be displaying anything near her gladiator voltage energy seen in 2008.
Mentally:
She consistently sounds but barely even engaged (some might say, barely “coherent”), passionless and sadly without a clue, seen to me anyway as not clicking, speaking more slowly than ever. I wonder if she has been able to ditch the “ah’s” and the “uh’s”, but she hasn’t been seen giving an extemporaneous presser that’s long enough to see that, for sure.
Hillary is at the mercy of her handlers, unable to run anything really— neither her campaign nor her own mind. The perfect “sympathy” candidate, so far.
Does this mean that if Hillary is elected, Anthony Wiener will be a frequently visiting the White house? Of course he has some things in common with WJC.
You’re wrong, my FRiend. There is nothing wrong with a president being blackmailable. So they get blackmailed and act against the interests of all Americans. So what? You’re only saying that to oppose our first lesbian President. Look, a squirrel!
