The article about Sen. Ted Cruz and the start of his White House run ("Ted Cruz announces campaign for president," Plain Dealer, March 23) reveals the sad state of America's fading hope for a sane future. No sane future without sane leaders, in all branches of government.
To think of an individual who truly believes that "God's blessing has been on America from the very beginning of this nation, and I believe that God is not done with Americans" is a statement of ignorance, not a sane vision.
The original people who lived on this land before the light skinned humans came and brutalized the natives and stole their lands were probably not convinced some fabricated God floating around in the clouds was giving out blessings. And this fabricated God surely wouldn't convince dark skinned people, displaced from their homeland, to be dumped in this nation as slaves that this act was a blessing.
Sen. Cruz wants to eliminate the right for a woman to have an abortion. Something to do with the fabricated God which is against abortion rights even in the case of rape, or incest. This God must not care whether or not the woman wants the infant, or, will truly love it.
A logical beginning to solve this conundrum would be excellent sex education and free birth control methods.
Sen. Cruz, and others of his ilk need to be more humble and understanding of those less fortunate than themselves.
James Mosher,
Willoughby
Hey Mosher,,I got your ick right here!!!!
He is the modern long-haired lib in the vain of “what can the government do for ME?” Clinton/Bush debate I believe.
Same noise you always hear.
Personal achievement characterized as “fortune”. Like it’s an accident.
Luck is opportunity well played. Nothing fortunate about it.
I guess that seems unfair to progressives who are stupid, immoral and lazy.
“A stop at Willoughby”. That was an episode of the old “Twilight Zone”.
One need not be a Christian to oppose murder.
“fabricated God”
I think we can write off convincing this person to vote for any professing Christian.
ROFL!
the satanic cultists are really revealing themselves now :)
CRUZ drives them nuts! and that makes me love him all the more!
“fortunate” “privileged”
These are the words of someone that refuses to see that the values that he refuses to adopt are the reason for the success he sees and envies in others.
Kinda coming out in the open, isn’t it?
“We hate you because we hate your Christ”
'The United States has way too many wealthy investors floating around already. These "wheeler dealers" are the crux of the reason our country is in such a terrible financial condition.'
Yep, too much investment is dragging the nation down.
The mind boggles.
Others of his ilk... Yeah... Someone as a faux independent, who already has an agenda and was for Red Bernie from the start... Next critic...
Made up name or one taken from a directory or phone book without the person’s knowledge. That letter had too much anger about abortion to be written by a man. No doubt a feminist, DNC paid troll.
But, but ... Mr. Obama is a Christian, didn’t you know that? LOL
So OK - according to this character, if I find someone who’s mother doesn’t want him/her or really love him/her, then I can kill them with impunity.
If the don’t want, won’t love argument holds for a baby, it must apply to anyone, right?
The “light skinned” people that supplanted the red skinned were only following the time tested imperative of moving into a vacuum of power. EVERY color, nation or tribe has done and will do the same thing. The red skinned natives did the same to each other and whomever was here before them. That is why when you “civilize” a land you MUST defend it to the death. There is always a nation or just a tribe that wants it from you. Just because of white guilt does not mean we give it back or give it up. We as a nation but especially as “caucasians” need to forgive ourselves and just live as best we can. I for one do not feel guilty for my nations or racial success, I am proud to the end.
With that said, in my opinion Cruz is as good a candidate that has come forward in a long time.
He's Rich. I'm not.
I think Cruz is restating the belief of the Founders of the US. I also think that any person belittling Cruz’s open belief about the US and It’s founding does not really like what the Founders established including a very distinguishing constitution.
I've spent enough time on reservations in the Dakotas to tell you that this man in indeed right - the Indians are slaves.
They are slaves to government dependency and a culture of non-productivity. They are slaves to self-administered chemical dependency.
Most of all they are enslaved by attitudes that they are victims who can't help themselves.
