Im not concerned about Sen. Ted Cruz running for the presidency. His extremist views doom his chances and predestine his failure, but will provide some needed amusement and head-scratching peculiarities necessary to punctuate the merciless bore of an endless presidential campaign.
Surrounded by a massive infestation of indoctrinated followers, he preceded his announcement with a paint-drying, self-aggrandizing preamble trying to the patience of all but his most ardent acolytes. Even its earnest pomp and magnificent solemnity were threatening glazed eyes to crust over and anesthetized enthusiasm to reach for that relieve only found in liberating slumber.
Oh, I could tell, they sought to cheer more than they did, but just as in a comedy devoid of proper timing, the inspiration lacked the proper punch. And, though there were some moments of rousing applause that succeeded in delivering an awkward smile to a face not very used to such distortion; to say that Cruz appeared on cruise control would be inaccurate.
Should he wish to gain the favor of more than ultra-conservatives and the Jerry Falwell crowd, he needs to reassess his fundamental convictions and realign his approach with better common sense and realistic reasoning, or he will forever continue to paint the image of a scary clown in the minds of those empowered to determine his political destiny.
Is this all they got!
I swear if I am ever near anyone who accuses Ted Cruz or any other conservative of “ extremist views”, I will punch their lights out. I am sick of the rats and their extremist views.
Wow. This guy is smart. He has discovered our super-secret ardent acolytes. I’m going to have a talk with Jim about that. We need better security around here.
And read this: “... earnest pomp and magnificent solemnity ...”. Poetry in its purist form.
And talk about giving out good advice for free you can look no further than this gem: “ ... He needs to reassess his fundamental convictions and realign his approach with better common sense and realistic reasoning,” Just double wow to that. Only a direct reference to Marx could possibly improve on it.
Hopefully Ted Cruz will chance upon this brilliant piece.
/s (for our many newbies from both sides of the spectrum)
-Surrounded by a massive infestation of indoctrinated followers-
Interesting how to the satanic left, anyone who doesn’t blindly follow their dogma is ‘indoctrinated’.
Right...as opposed to the current resident of the White Hut who is middle of the road....right.
Amazing how scared libs and Rinos are of Cruz, isn’t it? If it’s a foregone conclusion that he can’t win, the author could save his breath. Why write the article?
In a way, Cruz’s personal opinions are of no issue - he expertly/appropriately cloaks himself in the Constitution. So - anyone offended by the Constitution is naturally offended by Cruz... plus politicians and journalists who feel politically threatened by his intellect.
I’d bet if anyone actually had access to IQ test results for Obama and Cruz, their actual scores in each case would be about 20 points higher than 102 and 145, respectively.
(Someone should tell Condaleeza Rice and Ben Carson about that Bell Curve. It’s only a general reading, not specific to any particular person(s). Both Carson and Rice are in the top 1 percentile, above 98% of all people, whites included)
Those who don’t want individual liberty and freedom and liberty should be crated up and parachuted into the leftist utopias of cuba, n. korea, venezeula ant the too stupid to learn russia.
The Bell Curve is based on averages, not exceptions. Everyone should read it.
Cruz learned to swim and win in the pool o’ politics subjected to lying opponents and lying opponent supporters, like David DoWorst. On the Texas level, DoWorst was probably much more well funded, more vile and treacherous, by degree, than anything he’ll run into on the national stage. How did Ted Cruz do? Kicked DoWorst so bad it ran him completely out of politics.
Look for it in various forms in your local paper.
I lived in small town Indiana for a while, and saw this happen REPEATEDLY.
Some clown, (who was real), and known as the town idiot would simply regurgitate the pre-printed form, not realizing, that yes, some of us read the big town papers, and saw word for word the same letter.
O/T, but LOVE the Jerry Falwell reference.
The astroturf leftists probably don't even know he's been dead for years.

Josh Ernest commented on it as did Cruz.
This is why we can’t see his school grades.
I *think* that’s what I said, that it wasn’t about any individual(s). Both Carson and Rice are exceptional intellectually by any standard, as is Cruz. Actually I read Bell Curve when the book came out. The authors were all but tarred and feathered, and driven outta town on a rail Even if they were right.
But 102 would be extraordinarily low for Obama, and I would wager he’s over the mid 120 mark. “Smart enough” but not genius level. Nowhere near as high as Cruz, tho. Obama has a version of “street smarts” that seems to be in vogue these days.
I must admit I am no where near as conservative as some on this board. Thus I should be for a Bush or a Christie. But I am not. I really like what I am heading from Cruz and would support him all the way.
I like the first word better (after I looked it up).
Ooh, ooh, new word: "retromingent!"
Thanks, it's going into the quiver!
I once saw that word used by William F. Buckley in one of his trademark vicious-genteel rants, and loved it. I just couldn’t remember how to spell it, more than 30 years after having seen it in print.
Carson no doubt is a superior IQ range, Rice not so much or she would have been better as Secy of State.
Obama is half black and half white, so his being dumb is not racial.
My question is how did he ever get into Columbia U. and Harvard Law.
How many times did it take for him to pass the IL. Bar.
Cruz doesn’t need notes or a teleprompter to give a perfect speech. Cruz has a 145 IQ, 130 IQ is a Genius per Mensa.
