“Isnt it a bit micro-passive/aggressive to report rather than confront microagression?”
Depends on the political standing of those involved.

I could be wrong, but there is a lot of behavior that the left classifies a micro-aggression (such as the normal way a man sits in a subway car) that is different from being a loud-mouthed jerk.
The problem is that we don’t have a polite society anymore. Even the most polite attempt to ask a stranger to do something, such as making room to let people pass by, is often met with hostility.

We need an on campus FReep ASAP. Think of the lawsuit opportunities. We could get rich off these kinds of civil rights violations!

Is it any surprise that the Left is in total alignment with Islam on the 1st Amendment?

“microagressions” should engender microsuits and get microdamages.
Every day in every way, liberals prove they are insane.

To answer your question, you must also understand that there is a protected class (oppressed class) and a privileged class (white males in particular). Only victims who are members of the protected class can sue since they are the ones who face microagressions from the privileged class.
In your example the atheist is a member of the protect class and as a victim can sue; the Christian, a member of the privileged class cannot.

Yes, it certainly is.
The way to deal with something like this is to go Alinsky back on the Alinskyites. They’ve created a system for capturing microaggression, so make them play by their own rules and flood the system with reports.

What if the system was co-opted by the right?
My first thought too. Is a stupid policy a micro aggression against someone with common sense?
Help! Help! I'm being oppressed!!!

By definition wouldn’t microagression lead to micro-guilt and micro-consequences?

Wait until they institute sharia law.

Not in the least, both demand strict compliance with their beliefs.

The professors insult the students intelligence when they tell them that man-made global warming is real.
If justice is served, a lot of professors are going to be in the hot seat!
To: rightistight
Of course, not being aware of your microagression is no defense. You may not be aware that your eyes moved up 2.3 degrees when the prof mentioned gay rights! That is a microagression!
Did you breathe too much when they talked about abortion? That’ll get you expelled and fined.
Will there be “microrapes” too when a man asks a woman out?

It's interesting that the article in the college newspaper made no effort to even define "microaggression," as if the meaning of the term is obvious and universally understood. That in itself is a bad sign.
I assume that the term refers to statements or behaviors that are somehow deemed offensive or threatening, but in a way that falls short of - of what? And how can a campus be deemed "safe" and "inclusive" if everyone is walking on eggshells for fear of being publicly shamed or even disciplined for some offhand comment or gesture?
And - crucially, for an institution of higher learning - how can there be honest debate on moral, political, historical, and literary topics if the expression of some views might trigger a "microaggression" complaint?
To: I want the USA back
Your examples are absurd - and they are just the sort of things that this policy might try to punish. Absurdity and reality have become one and the same up in Ithaca.

"By definition wouldnt microagression lead to micro-guilt and micro-consequences?"
That is funny and clever, but we know that the very fact that they are monitoring "microaggression" means that there will be a lack of proportion between the "offense" and the punishment. (By the way, I notice that spellcheck still regards "microagression" as a misspelled or non-existent word. It will be interesting to see how fast that changes.)

If we can find a way to unleash political correctness on the middle east, we would destroy Islam. Of course, we would still be stuck with commies.
