For those who have forgotten what Pi means, it is the ratio of circumference of a perfect circle divided by it's diameter. "Pi" is used extensively in math & engineering.

There are only 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary, and those who don’t.

***Pi = 3.1415926535...***

I was always taught to round it off to 3.1416.

Sounds good!

I celebrated Pi day by picking up a frozen turkey pot pie produced by a local farm. It will be formally defrosted and sacrificed at a date TBD next week.

Nice breakfast! I like my egg scrambled every morning with sauteed onions, tomato bits & chopped green jalapeno peppers & bits of cheddar cheese..of course a crisp strip of bacon or two is always good with it.

Southern Pecan pie is also my favorite because I need only a small slice to satisfy. It will last me 3 times as many days as an apple pie.

3.1416 works in most practical applications.
For precision fanatics, here is more decimals...

Is there any indication of people commemorating the day back on March 14, 1915?

I bet anything produced locally has to be good to compete with mass produced varieties, such as Marie Calendar’s.

My first math insight was when as a kid I was thinking about Pi and realized it applied equally to all sizes of circles. I know, obvious. But to me it wasn’t obvious until it became obvious, and then the whole world shifted and I “got” WHY math was so important to science and the natural world. I was dancing around in amazement and told some people about my incredible insight, but they just shrugged and said “yeah, that’s how it works.” Ah, the frustrating experiences of childhood!
