500 years of worrying about rent, utilities, social isolation, jobs even? No, no and no. There is nothing worth doing that demands my presence here for multiple millennium.
What could there possibly be to do while ensconced no doubt in our Mach5 Senior Colonies?

Based on what I’ve seen happen to society in just the past 30 years, there’s no way in hell I want to be around for 500.

Yep, no thanks.

People who write this kind of stuff must be kooks.

Do you really think that this guy believes in Heaven or Hell?

No. It’s obvious. He’s trying to make Google some money that he’ll never be around to enjoy.

So we raise the retirement age to 200?

Won’t work if we still age.

I saw this Matt Damon sci-fi movie Elysium where the rich and powerful people live in Elysium — a technologically advanced and wealthy terraformed space habitat sitting in Earth’s orbit. Advanced technology includes Med-Bays — medical machines which can cure all diseases, reverse the aging process and regenerate new body parts.

I'd go for it, but only if I could be a disembodied brain who gets to bet on gladiator fights.

"...is it possible to live to be 500? The answer is yes,”

And, with my luck, the scientific means of doing so will be invented... roughly twenty years after the present generation is all dead.

You’d watch multiple nations, empires, and whole civilisations rise and fall.

Just as God placed limits on the extent of the seas, He has placed limits on the extent of the earthly years of each of us.

These people are delusional. They want to play God, but will never succeed.

I don’t care how old I get as long as I can keep working.

I can’t think of any scenario where living that long would be desirable. Think of the trouble one would have fitting with contemporary society over the centuries. It’s tough enough to deal with some of the nonsense in the past decade that is threatening to become the societal norm. 50 years from now, I’d be totally lost. 500 years from now? Unthinkable.

Imagine what I have to go through! I was born in the stone-age, son of Og, son of Ooga. This magic box all of you live in still fills me with fear, and what irks me the most is that not all of you agree with all the things I say.

Lord please do not bestow this on me. The last thing on Earth I want to do is live to 500 years old. I thought 100 years old but I am backtracking on that a lot lately too. Yep just an ole flip flopper I am. lol.

We already know how to make people live to 500+ years.

What we lack are the proper tools to implement the process.

The surgeons hands, however skilled, lack the dexterity and speed to accomplish what s/he knows could be done...if only! :-(

Time is the killer, there is not enough time for current tools to do what is needed to save a dying patient.

Luckily we have the tool that can, in effect, slow down time. It is the computer. A suitable computer can do in a moment what a human would need multiple lifetimes to do. When you mate that speed with the proper physical tools so that the computer can manipulate biological systems you will have immortality.

There will be nano-tech artificial immune systems, I/O nano-tech networks inside our nervous systems, 3D printing of any body part using our own tissues. This will not be living to 500+ years in a decrepit, ugly body...it will be living for hundreds of years in a perfect and beautiful body.

And it won’t even be expensive..... we are at the dawn of the automation age... everything is destined to become free or nearly free. Many of the old axioms simply will no longer be true.

What will fiscal conservatism mean in a world where people need not work for a living and all our stuff is free?

What will progressives do when the mass of people do not need them for anything and just want them out of their face?

I don’t want to live to 500 in this fallen world. That said I do life extending things and quality of life improving things.

Nobody would make it anyway as the society keeps going more to the left, libtards will celebrate murderers and say victims had it coming. Like they’re doing now.

I will live forever in the new heaven and new earth. And will have eternity to continue to learn new things and know God.

During the Millennial Reign, I believe this may be the lower standard, without the resurrected body.

It is an interesting thought.

I haven’t seen where after the defeat of the AntiChrist, that technology is erased. Rather, I suspect it continues to increase, but simply ruled by Christ to follow His Plan (the Father’s). Meanwhile the same tech advances allowing the mark of the beast will be turned around to assist in cleaning up our sin.
