They can call themselves a Christian.
And I can call myself the Rightful Heir to the English Throne, it don’t make it so.
I don’t see how.
Never. These phony pukes are only “Christian” based on their perverse interpretation of the Bible or whatever suits them.
You can’t make a judgement because the holier than thou will then judge you.
Yes a liberal can be a Christian.
Barack Obama sees Jesus as a historical figure.
Barack Obama has said that Jesus is not the only way, he doesn’t accept that those of other faiths face damnation.
Barack Obama says that sin is whatever goes against his values.
Barack lied to church going black Christians when he said that he personally opposed same sex marriage, that marriage was something special between a man and a woman with ‘God in the mix’. David Axelrod spilled the beans.
Barack has a lot of praise for the prophet of Islam (who denied the divinity of Jesus, denied His death by crucifixion and resurrection) and the ‘holy’ koran. I never hear Barack refer to the Holy Bible.
Barack uses Jesus to admonish taxpayers that they are their brother’s keeper yet Barack ignores his own brother in poverty.
There is no charity in being forced under penalty of law to tithe to the government welfare state.
I question that Barack meets any understood common usage of the term Christian.
My understanding of Christianity is that it doesnt require me to prove my faith to anyone on this plane of existence.
She does not understand Christianity and she is not a Christian. See post five.
I stopped at the very beginning. There is no liberality in the Gospel. God does not operate in a democracy. His word is absolute. You have a choice. Nobody is forcing you to follow. If you do accept Christ into your heart, follow the scripture to the letter.
No worshipping of abortion, homosexual perversion, etc.
You're either with Jesus or against Him.
Sure they can be a Christian ... just like the Bible says in Romans!
Romans 10 ...
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

Being a Christian doesn’t mean that you know it all, get everything right, or are right about even other things in the Bible (I know a lot of Christians wrong there) ... but a person is a Christian on the basis of what the Bible says ...
As I said in my post # 37, in the earlier thread on Ana Marie Cox, http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3262886/posts
She is just now emerging and is apparently a new and young Christian. She needs time and encouragement to grow in her faith and understanding. To condemn her now, is to squash the budding Christian, that is not what Jesus instructed us to do.
Regarding “liberal” it depends upon one’s definition of the word and that is based upon the era one is thinking of. Today’s liberals do not believe as those who called themselves by that name 100 or 200 years ago.
Sounds like another Kirsten Powers.
Can a Liberal be a Christian? No - not and stay that way.
Can a foreigner be President?....Oh, wait
Can a Liberal Be Christian?
The requirements of being a Christian, aren’t hard. Recognizing you are a sinner is a big part. Wanting to change and repenting are others. Accepting Christ as your savior is key.
So yes, Liberals, like we other sinners, can be Christians. But first they need to want to be.
Overall? Pretty unlikely.
Oldplayer
The fact of the matter is that one can very well support homosexuality and/or abortion and be a Christian. A Christian can be wrong about a whole lot of things, and as long as they’re right about the following ... they are saved!

I know a number of Christians who are wrong about Bible doctrine, don’t know it or are wrong about other things ... but ... I also know that they do accept Jesus, the Messiah of Israel as their personal savior, just as the Bible says.
They may never get it all right, this side of going to be with Jesus ... but when they get there, they’ll have it all right!
The Word of God says no.
Sure, a liberal, even a very Progressive liberal, can be a “Christian”. All they have to do is dress up neatly every Sunday, attend services, place a generous contribution in the plate when it passes, and even get up and partake of the Communion and other rituals.
But like the Current Occupant, they never have to hear or take note of what the pastor or other congregation members may be saying. In their minds, they are engaged in what the Islamic world calls “taqiya”, to use the Shi’ite Arabic word, a form of religious dissimulation, or a legal dispensation whereby a believing individual can deny his faith or commit otherwise illegal or blasphemous acts, especially while they are in fear or at risk of significant persecution.
Now, Progressives, in fact most liberals, DO have a de facto religion, the Religion of Man, or secular humanism, which was given widespread infamy during the French Revolution, based on Voltaire’s espousal of the concept. Nominally a Catholic, openly an atheist, and yet, somewhere, wanting a supreme being into whom he could place his faith, but failing that, Voltaire evolved the doctrine of the supremacy of Reason, a sort of non-divine god-like power, but one which keeps out of the way of determined men.
And the fosters of the French Revolution were nothing if not determined men.
