Slavery was not a state issue. That was the excuse used by the slavers to violate other people’s inalienable rights.

The Caucus for Producers, Writers & Directors this year chose the conservative Senator from Texas as one of its recipients of its annual "American Spirit Award." Another is to go to liberal Calif. governor Jerry Brown... has set a meeting Monday to determine whether to stick with its plan to give a Spirit award to Cruz after some of its more liberal members objected to the selection, and some threatened to quit if the decision wasn't reversed. Insiders say Leonard Hill, an Emmy-nominated producer of TV movies, is spearheading the effort... "Censorship is very much in the news today, and there's a great debate in this country about our future. Why would anyone want to listen to only one side?" asked one insider who spoke on the condition of anonymity. "Would someone please explain what the senator from Texas has done that merits his exclusion in Hollywood?" Some Caucus members said they consider Cruz to be overly "polarizing" and too much a "right-winger," so he should therefore be excluded from consideration for a Spirit award. Countered another member: "He's the kind of person Hollywood should admire. Princeton graduate. Harvard law degree. Supreme Court clerk. Legitimate candidate for president. What's this town scared of?"
The jackasses who want the invitation rescinded are polarizing and too left-wing. If they succeed, they have no complaint for what happens to their careers.

This group should look at the runaway numbers from “American Sniper,” and consider what demographic that represents . . . which has plenty of spending money to throw at going to the movies, or buying DVD’s.

If they really consider that, they’ll welcome Ted with open arms.

Totally understandable....it’s like Vampires shying away in fear from Van Helsing holding a crucifix.

These people in this left coast bubble are irrelevant. Therefor their consideration for doling out rewards is also irrelevant. Just like all the other self awarding events there.
More important business is afoot in a daily life. d:^)

They answered their own question. The powers that be do NOT want a person of honor that they cannot leverage or blackmail running for POTUS. The uniparty'a agenda is essentially fascist, and fascism requires a powerful central government, a people indentured to crony industry friends, and government backed indoctrination into islime.

Cruz will seriously wrench up their police state machine.

I’m 66 and I got this feeling my final days won’t be in a nursing home. As in, I’ll be standing up when that time comes. Weapon in hand. Jihad targets all of us “infidels”.

Henry V’s soliloquy assumed there would be a future when the veterans of Agincourt could observe St. Crispian’s Day. We may not have that luxury.

For now, I’m like the kid in Red Dawn who believed hate is a good thing when it keeps you warm.

Anyway, if Hollywood disapproves of Ted Cruz, then I’m even more determined to support his candidacy.
