I actually found and grabbed some 100 watt incandescent light bulbs at the Dollar Tree store the other day, made in China of course, but the packaging was dated 2014; I thought the manufacturing of these alleged planet destroying devices had been outlawed a few years back.
“I thought the manufacturing of these alleged planet destroying devices had been outlawed a few years back.”
No, the manufacture was outlawed in the USA. If they were made in China..... ;-)
Wait until you check out the prices of the new LED bulbs.
There are ways around it. My favorite is selling them as “heat sources”, turns out there’s nothing even remotely illegal about a heat source that “happens” give off 100 watts of light.
"Now Europe comes for the Sunday roast: Brussels to impose maximum power limit on all new gas and electric ovens from next month."
The whole article is worth reading to see restrictions in things like hair driers etc.:

My experience with the LEDs is good. More expensive but they have lasted forever. Better light too.
The problem with saving billions on energy bills is that the more electricity we save the higher the electric rate gets.
I may be saving electricity with my new crappy Fridge and washer but my rates here in MA are going up 35% this year, that does not include the projected 50% rate hike once they start building the 100 Renewable, free energy windmills in the water off of Cape Cod.
F these moonbats.
I got a couple of boxes of incandescent bulbs too. I bought a whole bunch of whatever I could find before they started disappearing.
don’t even get me started on low flow toilets !!!
HOORAH for regulations. How wles would the unemployable keep employed?
I spend a lot of time in Germany (Dresden). They are absolute nuts for anything “green” “climate friendly” “eco” etc... If you want to wash a small load of clothes in your washer prepare to wait at least 2 1/2 hours for a wash and another 2 for a dry. Imagine trying to wash all your clothes with 2 tablespoons of water. That’s what they try to do in Germany. I have a wonderful oversize washer and dryer in my home here. I can have a huge load of wash done in about 1 1/2 hour.
And who needs legislation and elections when you can just regulate for all eternity.
“There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers — and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system.”
