Encouraging on the face of it. However, my first inclination is to want to compare the decrease in violence with a change in the population resulting from desertion of its working citizens as a result of the financial bankruptcy problems. Couple this with what I’d expect of a relocation of those citizens disposed so regarding entitlements, etc. to newer, better pastures and this might not be such a victory at all.
Less available victims - less crime.
This is another sign that Detroit is at the beginning of pulling itself out of its collectivist funk.
Could it also be less because there is no one left? I thought I turned the lights off when I left.
I bet if Detroit would do what Kennesaw, GA did back in 1982, by requiring all heads of households residing within its city limits to own a firearm, the violent crime rate would drop even further!
