The faux issue has been thoroughly hashed at FR.
There’s a lot in the Bible that is metaphoric; there’s a lot that can’t be taken literally (or it least I don’t think it can be). There’s a lot (too much) that is routinely ignored by many who profess to be Christians, and shouldn’t be.
None of us can have perfect knowledge of God. Though some will say their knowledge is better than others as a matter of their professed faith. I’m human, so accept that I can’t have this perfect knowledge.
Personally, I’d like to believe God would allow my dogs to greet me when (if?) I arrive. I hope I won’t have to bear the disappointment should they not be there ... but would also accept this as God’s way.
Pope Francis, a supporter of the Marxist Liberation Theology, defines himself as The Che Guevara of the Palestinians.... Fidel,Leonardo Boff, Gustavo Gutierrez, Pope Bergoglio... birds of a feather...

The Che Guevara of the Palestinians is set to visit Palestinian Authority-controlled Judea and Samaria next week, beginning in Bethlehem, and the city of Jesuss birth is already in high excitement. The bearer of that illustrious title is none other than Pope Francis. According to Israel National News, Rabbi Sergio Bergman, a member of the Argentinian parliament and close friend of Pope Francis said that the pope intends to define himself as the Che Guevera of the Palestinians and support their struggle and rights during his visit.

An old Twilight Zone episode (The Hunt) that dealt with the issue about as well as any I’ve heard from anyone else.
This is another example of a bell that, once struck, cannot be unrung until it dissipates on it’s own pendulum. The issue has been discussed, debated, disavowed, disowned, and dismissed, yet, many of us still wish to mull the idea over just a little bit more.
It gives voice to a common wish ,often thought about, but seldom spoken aloud by most pet owners.
Thankx.
“The Last Days Watchtower”?
Did Church of Later Day Saints merge with Jehova’s Witnesses?
Ive noticed cults hate Catholics, I wonder why? Could it be they are both Masonic Illuminati?

What a beautiful friend you have.
>>Personally, Id like to believe God would allow my dogs to greet me when (if?) I arrive.<<
.
And what would you say to all the pigs that you treated as just another pork chop or the deer you shot for venison and all the cockroaches you stepped on and, God forbid, to all the thousands of chickens whose drumsticks you nonchalantly scarfed up at your local KFC?
You will NOT win a popularity contest in heaven my FRiend.
'Except for the cockroaches, all of you were delicious!'
BINGO! We have a winner!
Thank you. That’s it. I’ll watch it all later this evening. That was a great one.
It is assertions like yours that expose our anthropomorphic assignments to God. [Notice that I put my notions in the form of a question, for we just really don't know while still on this side.
Biggirl: BINGO! We have a winner!
::Sigh:: I knew it.
So, do those metaphors include the virgin birth, the "real presence," and the resurrection of J*sus, or are they limited to the first eleven chapters of Genesis and the Book of Jonah?
Good grief, what are posting about?
