Prescription Government Issued Picture ID Requirement (North Carolina)

I just received a prescription from my local hospital which required government issued photo ID to pick a controlled substance. This is a 365 day a year photo ID requirement. (Imagine that you vote once every two to four years and as if by magic disenfranchisement becomes a legitimate issue).

The Affordable Care Act, e.g., government involvement in health care is not being questioned, nor have there been any issues with the photo ID requirement which states Government Issued ID....

The main point is that there is no problem with Photo ID for voting based on our experience with the Affordable Care Act, with Social Security, with EBT Cards, Medicaid or Medicare or the aforementioned Prescriptions for controlled substances. Somehow everyone from 1 - 100 years of age are getting their healthcare with out being disenfranchised and they are getting their social service program benefits as well.

So the next time voter ID becomes an issue this is a major way to push back.

Another example - Amtrak, the government operated mass transit system requires photo ID. So do most, if not all bus lines. I suspect that is in response to regulations or requests from the government.

Somehow we don't hear any complaints about minorities being unable to get on the bus do we? Imagine if there really were a significant number of minority citizens who lacked photo ID. Wouldn't it be front page news when they were denied access to Amtrak trains or long distance buses? I suspect the truth is that the overwhelming majority of adult citizens in the USA have a photo ID.

The is because “photo ID to vote” is a [red hearing]. Disenfranchisement of voters is the rallying cry of socialist, because if they (the socialist) ever told the truth to the American people, two (2) things would happen, first, the socialist would not have a case in Court, e.g. can you imagine the socialist arguing in a Court of law they are against a photo ID requirement because they (the socialist) want as many people voting for the socialist party as possible including illegal foreign nationals! Second, the American people already believe our elections are corrupted by dead people and illegals voting numerous times for socialist, to announce that this is exactly what the (socialist) are driving for would place the entire issue back under the rock from which their argument came in the first place!

The problem with looking at the issue of requiring a photo ID to vote in this Country with common sense is, there is NO common sense not to make mandatory a photo ID to prevent corruption at the polls and the socialist entire argument is hypocritical since the same socialist government demands every American to present a photo ID to board a plane, a bus, rent a car, drive an automobile, fly a plane, purchase prescriptions, see a doctor, etc, and on and on and on it goes. But, not to vote in an election just tells everyone with common sense, these same socialist want to steal out elections and at the very least corrupt them to the point of arguing after an election for their candidate. Can we all remember the comedian socialist running for the office of US Senate? The socialist counted those votes until they came up with enough votes to win, just by a squeaker, but it was enough to give him the election! They (the socialist) used in part their phony argument of “disenfranchisement” then to get a Court to order more votes counted that should have never been counted!

It all makes sense if you stop looking at it with common sense!

And you need a photo id to buy beer, whiskey, lottery tickets, cigarettes, marijuana, cocaine, meth, ...

OK, so the “poor” don’t fly. Need a photo id to get on board an airplane nowdays - unless you are an illegal alien non-resident - THEY get a letter THEY can wave in the face of the TSA agent frisking everybody else.

Excellent point!

They squawk if ID is needed for voting, but not if its needed for Amtrak or the greyhound/mass transit bus.

I needed photo ID to see a doctor a few days ago. I was told it was part of Obamacare regs to make sure that I was who I said I was. If that is the case, everyone in the country is currently required to have medical insurance, thus everyone is required to have photo ID.

It’s time we start beating the left using their own words and actions against them. They are picking and choosing regs to crush liberty. Time to crush them with their own “virtue” as Alinsky would put it.

And the libs say voter ID disenfranchises the elderly and poor....

but its OK for them to require it of medicare, Medicaid, obamacare recipients - the very folks that would supposedly have trouble getting ID in order to vote.

Can’t have it both ways, libs.

Hey al sharpton, Jesse Jackson, etc etc, how many of the folks you represent are on medicare, Medicaid, or obamacare?

And how come they’re able to get govt ID for those things, but not for voting?

Why haven’t you complained about them needing ID for those things, along with your complaint about it needed for voting?

In your case,

what sorts of ID were acceptable?

Of those types, what was required in order to get each type?

I.e is state non- driver id OK?

And does one get one of those by showing a birth cert and utility bill, or just a utility bill? Or what?
