It's a video, there is no transcript beyond unintelligible grunts.
As for the state of things, whatever. But doing my part to celebrate Western Civilization. This sSene from Black Friday 2014 in New Pakistan (formerly "Great Britain" is therefore accompanied by Frédéric Chopin - Prelude in E-Minor (Opus 28 Number 4).
And for humblegunner types, Chopin actually passed away quite a while ago, and this music is in the public domain ; )
(Excerpt) Read more at youtube.com ...
For some reason “knickers in a twist “ springs to mind.
“Panty-Palooza 6”...this time it’s personal!
"...you know Frederic f^%#ing Chopin...???"
Why would the UK feel the need to copy this of all things?
I guess for retailers to make money would be the obvious answer? But they don’t actually do Thanksgiving. (In fact, the secular view of Thanksgiving kind of has a subtle anti-British aspect.)
I’m curious about Canada, whether they do something similar. There is another Canadian Thanksgiving, and it wasn’t yesterday.
Perhaps they prefers “Stephen “f***in’ Foster”?
Additionally, the logical place to close your parenthetical phrase is after the words "Great Britain."
Oh, and you should probably make "Chopin" into a possessive - "Chopin's" - since I doubt that he was the one who actually performed the selection you used.
Ping!
It’s considered very bad form around here to mention people or talk about them without pinging them to the thread.
Is that “Old Dog Tray? Sounds like “Old Dog Tray.”
But really, you can put anything you like on it. It doesn't have to be an old dog.
Good point. Will try to be better about that in the future. (Didn’t know that one, can’t blame it on not enough coffee yet.)
Not that I was worried humblegunner wouldn’t see it LOL.
Good point. The closed parentheses is a no-brainer obviously. I like the more subtle point about Chopin, which I might have actually done had I processed more coffee already. Probably need a little more than usual due to excessive turkey yesterday. (At least I slept moderately well for a change ... it’s a seasonal thing, I’m sure Im’ not the only one going through it right now.)
PS feel free to also tell me how to quote a previous comment so it is shown at the top with italics. You know, I really did know how to do that at one point, but I can’t figure out how to do that now.
I’ll add spaces so the HTML won’t “take.”
Italics = < i >
Close italics = < /i >
Bold = < b >
Close bold < /b >
Paragraph break = < p >
Line break = < br >
If you use HTML: on any part of your post, the whole post must then be coded. And again, the examples I just gave are expanded with spaces. You must compress them when you actually use them.
If you do not use HTML you can just post a link and it will be “hot.” If you use HTML then you have to make your link “hot” with the < a href = “ xxx “ > format.
(i)text(/i)
Like this, but instead of parenthesis use “less than” and “greater than”.
