Just let Kaci Hickox have a pizza (The Left's New Poster Girl)
Vox ^ | October 30, 2014 | Sarah Kliff

Update: This story now has a happy ending. Just around the time this article went live — about 20 hours after nurse Kaci Hickox requested a pizza — a Bangor Daily News reporter tweeted this photo of the pizza being delivered. The company apparently did indeed get the Maine police's sign off.

First, it was Kaci Hickox, a nurse with Doctors Without Borders, who was held in quarantine at Newark Airport when she returned from treating Ebola patients in West Africa — even after she tested negative for the disease twice. She is now in quarantine at her house in Maine for no apparently good reason, and was trailed by police Thursday when she went on a one-mile bike ride.

Now, it is Hickox's pizza is being held captive. ABC News reports that a local pizza place called the Moose Shack (it gets 2.5 stars on Yelp) would like to send Hickox a pizza. This is a very thoughtful thing for a local business to do for a nurse who helped battle a vicious pandemic.

While Hickox told reporters last night she would enjoy a pizza, it still hasn't been delivered. This is because the Moose Shack is still "in contact with the police department to see whether they can deliver a pizza." We're now at about 20 hours since the ask was made — and no pizza.

Yes, we've learned that Ebola can be transmitted in ways we didn't expect before this outbreak had begun. But it is literally impossible to imagine how Ebola could be transmitted in this particular scenario, which involves a health worker who has twice tested negative for Ebola and a pizza delivery person who has not recently traveled to West Africa. The risk of transmission is non-existent because nobody involved in the exchange has Ebola.

This is arguably the height of absurdity in how the United States has treated returning health care workers. Hickox came home from a harrowing experience and she just wants to get a pizza from a local place that she likes. And for some reason, the Maine police's response is not a clear yes, of course you should have access to a comfort food. So, hurry up and do the right thing, Maine: let Kaci Hickox have a pizza.

Bull. There is a good reason. Ebola can take weeks to show up. Better safe than sorry, isn't that one of the liberal mantras?

I hope she does come down with it. What a selfish twit.

I would not want to be her BF right now.

I really hope she doesn’t come down with Ebola. but that’s the whole point, that we don’t know for sure until she’s past the incubation period.

I'm tending to agree with you.

It seems she's not into nursing but is administrative and writes "papers" on medical subjects based on "research". She did one ridiculous "traffic" study in Vegas.

Who's paid for her schooling. She's in her 30's.

Yup....she's a Fluke twin.

She said that she was shoving Tylenol down some kids throat while the kid was convulsing. Anyone believe that?? Then the kid died. What a nurse!!! NOT

Ebola Docs and Nurses Care About Africans, Don’t Care About Americans
FrontPage Mag ^ | 10/29/2014 | Daniel Greenfield

We’re told ad nauseam that the medical personnel who go to Africa are heroes. And that’s fine. I have no objection to them doing their humanitarian thing and then writing a bestselling book about it.

But now that Madam Ebola is in town, it’s hard to miss the fact that these people might care about Africans, but they certainly don’t care about Americans.

The city’s first Ebola patient initially lied to authorities about his travels around the city following his return from treating disease victims in Africa, law-enforcement sources said.

Dr. Craig Spencer at first told officials that he isolated himself in his Harlem apartment — and didn’t admit he rode the subways, dined out and went bowling until cops looked at his MetroCard the sources said.

“He told the authorities that he self-quarantined. Detectives then reviewed his credit-card statement and MetroCard and found that he went over here, over there, up and down and all around,” a source said.

Spencer finally ’fessed up when a cop “got on the phone and had to relay questions to him through the Health Department,” a source said.

So he lied. He couldn’t be trusted to self-quarantine which means none of them can be. Meanwhile Ebola nurse Kaci Hickox is continuing her public tantrum and extinguishing whatever media manufactured sympathy the public had for her.

Defiant nurse Kaci Hickox vowed to break a mandatory quarantine order that would keep her inside her Maine home for much of the next three weeks.

Hickox said more appropriate measures would include self-monitoring by taking her temperature twice a day and getting medical attention if she began to show symptoms of Ebola.

“I would go back,” said Hickox. “This has been a bit of a nightmare for me but my work in Sierra Leone for four weeks was amazing and I feel privileged to have been able to help fight this battle. I do plan on going back in fact, it’s not just ‘will I,’ it’s more of a when.”

There’s a stench of egomania to Hickox’s language. She’s willing to compromise the public safety of Americans so she can have her fun while she’s stateside and then go back to Africa to feel “privileged”. For her being told to stay at home is a nightmare, but not the risk of creating an epidemic in this country.

Spencer has already proven that these people cannot be trusted.

There’s no reason to trust Kaci Hickox after her obnoxious and thoughtless attitude.

The pizza or pancakes diet sounds pretty good for her. (They could slide either under the door.) But really, why not just leave it on the porch?

Why do libtards thrive so much on drama?

Does anyone know exactly what Kaki Hiccups was doing in west Africa? Did she actually have any patient contact or was she just pushing paper for Doctors Without Brains or the Centers for Disease Coverups? That is, is she at risk of coming down with Ebola?

So, she’s more of a plant than I thought she was. Never touched an Ebola patient so will not come down with Ebola!

Even if she weren’t diseased and generally nasty..

I wouldn’t give her the grease out of my Whataburger wrapper.

The author doesn’t seem to know much about testing for Ebola.

The test will show Ebola is present...right about the time symptoms start to appear.

The entire freaking reason we have a quarantine is precisely because there is no reliable Ebola test, until after its too late to prevent transmission.

She’s been back in the US for one week...it is not at all improbable that she in infected with Ebola right now...nobody really knows until the 21 day period is up.

Yes it is. When it comes to ‘climate change’, their argument has become ‘even if we can’t be 100% sure we are all doomed, we have to err on the side of caution and do something to stop it’.

Apparently, they only believe that for make believe problems.

Ha, it’s a small pizza so not enough for both her and bf. Bf is sure getting the short end of the stick with this gal.

Hate to have any business lose out on Ebola elites, but if it loses customers, this time it’s its own fault. I’d be really pizzed if I were the next delivery after the guy knocked on her door.
