If the people of Seattle hate Christopher Columbus so much, they should take steps to reverse his “crimes,” starting with their own city.
Last Monday the Seattle City Council unanimously passed a resolution declaring the second Monday of October Indigenous People’s Day....
Socialist councilmember Kshama Sawant, indigenous to Pune, India, was more forthcoming about the measure’s explicitly anti-Columbus content. She said they pressed for having Indigenous People’s Day on the same day as Columbus Day to draw attention to the fact that the Genoan explorer “played such a pivotal role in the worst genocide humankind has ever known.” She scoffed at the cultural sensitivities of people of Italian heritage, advising that if they were upset they should “celebrate Italian American social-justice activists rather than Columbus.”
One of Mr. Harrell’s applause lines was, “I make no excuses for this legislation.” Brave words, but does he have an excuse for living on land appropriated from the Indigenous People he set out to honor? If he wants to “fully recognize the evil of the past,” maybe he should spearhead legislation to give Seattle back to the region’s original inhabitants.

Well, I recently read that in spite of Seattle’s bribe of Billion$ in tax credits for Boeing, the company has decided to move a substantial part of the 777 manufacturing to Oklahoma and elsewhere. I’m sure Boeing has heard this song and dance before from the “Leaders” of an ever increasing communist leading political establishment.

There was some great plague that nearly wiped out the native Americans before the white man got here. They said that had that not happened there might have been too many Indians and we could not have defeated them.
Boeing tried to move to W.V. or one of the Carolinas as I recall and Obolas Labor Dept. Wouldn’t let them.
in addition to dumping Columbus Day, we must dump all the other non Native American cultural events.

Seattle is not in love with her. People are just apathetic and don’t think the City Council can do much of anything.
Businesses control Seattle’s waywardness pretty much, especially when it gets out of hand.
Occasionally the college youth vote is harnessed and of course the school teacher and union vote drive a lot of progressive issues to the headlines but results are always tempered or adjusted over time by practical businesses. For example, the $15/hr minimum wage I think was adjusted to a gradual stepped introduction or such and that was driven by businesses.
Seattle has an undercurrent of pragmatic conservatism that is in the closet because people don’t want the drama or conflict. For example on healthcare, “Yeah sure healthcare for everyone sure sure yeah yeah, ... just don’t send me a bill for it as I have a business to run.” At the end of the day business people have to make a living and they try to do so in a way that is smooth. No high flying emotions or passions, just smooth smart efforts.
Conservatives don’t do well because nothing ‘positive’ comes in their campaign expression. That’s the art of the Left is to always be ‘positive’ in some sense. Where the Left loses is when they go looney which they often do. But Seattle businesses keep a lid on the loons letting them keep their elected office as long as they don’t get cocky. So this is how the Left stays in power in Seattle.
The Bloomberg gun control may or may not slip through. That is one to watch out for and to defeat will require high turnout in areas outside of Seattle.
Southern, Northern and Eastern Washington State are bright red whereas Western Washington is deep blue. A lot of vote fraud is coordinated at the county elections office in Seattle and that keeps the progressives in power in the state governor’s office.
My take is that Sawant won’t last. She got in with a very low turnout with not much opposition. She’s not liked and not popular. But she’s in with the homosexual mayor.
All this will pass.
Right now there is a huge building boom in Seattle. But there is no consumer market to fill in what’s being built. Rents are sky high. Building contractors don’t care if what they are building sells because the loan money is practically free. Occupancy rates are low and will remain so unless it’s all converted to low income with subsidies. Eventually that game will grind to a halt.
As Margie Thatcher wisely said “Socialism is great until you run out of other people’s money”.
Next up from Sawant I think will be rent control and we will see how far she gets with that.

Well..Columbus was a bit on the Hitler side. He didn’t discover America...he accidentally ran into land already discovered by the Vikings. It should be called Viking Day.
The constitution was the best protection of indeginous people. It was overruled by a democrat...imagine that.

They need to change the name of the city. Chief Seattle owned slaves. Seattle is way worse than Redskins.
Let's start with things under the direct control of the Seattle government:
1. Give back all government buildings, including City Hall, the Court House, fire departments and schools. (This will mean laying off all teachers, of course.)
2. An immediate sliding-scale Indigenous Tax on ALL government salaries and PENSIONS, which CANNOT be passed on to the taxpayers but must be paid directly out of the pockets of the occupier-pigs living off the fat of the Indigenous Land.
3. The proceeds of all Stolen Land Property Taxes (which means all property taxes) being given IN FULL to the Indigenous People and not held in the greedy blood-stained hands of the Filthy Scum Occupiers.
That's just a start. We'll think of more later. But let's start with those three Judicious Reforms.
