So I just drove by UMASS Memorial in Worcester about 30 minutes ago on my way home.

Media is already setting up for the 11:00pm news broadcast.

Prepare for the New England Ebola Panic (Trust me - the media’s good about that around here)

Guess I should also note that UMASS Memorial is the top employer in Worcester.

Went to college in Worcester. Sad sorry state of affairs that UMASS Hospital is the largest employer. Year’s ago, Norton’s was.. manufacturing is dead there now.

Outside of Boston, all that's left in Brockton, Framingham, Lawrence, Lowell, Springfield, New Bedford and Worcester are Quik-e marts, welfare offices, pawn shops, and broken down apartments.

My daughter went to Pharmacy school in Worcester. I hated every minute she was there.

A dangerous place it is.

Man are they going to be busy once flu season hits.

Yep - my daughter is a nurse and we discussed it yesterday - while Ebola doesn't cause coughing/sneezing, Flu and other maladies do and they are not mutually exclusive to having also been infected by Ebola. As Flu season hits, there are likely to be a number of cases where the Flu helps spread the disease. Most hospitals and staff are totally unprepared and have no intentions of trying to prepare because it would be an exercise in futility, along with being expensive - we are woefully unprepared if it gains a foot hold.
