The weirdest thing happened today. In a world with few sane liberals, Jeffrey Goldberg is a sane liberal. He’s typically sober-minded and almost always worth a read on any number of topics. But today he tweeted out something very, very, very weird. Pardon the abbreviated French I used in my response:

If they haven’t, everybody on this ping list IMO would be greatly helped if they read some of the background of what has brought us to such increasing polarization. IMO, the root cause is spiritual - believers versus atheists; light versus darkness - the political form beginning in the 1800’s with Marx and Engels and later in the 1880’s, the Fabian Socialist Movement (now called “Progressives”).

Highly-regarded figures of the past like George Bernard Shaw were members of the Fabian Socialist Party and were very outspoken about the right of the state to kill entire classes of people it deemed unproductive.

We must arm ourselves with the realization that many who hate God have and are migrating away from individual sanctity, rights, and freedoms to the right of government to do what it wants to individuals.
If they haven’t yet, all freedom lovers (Sarah embodies the love of freedom IMO) would be greatly helped if they read some of the background of what has brought us to such increasing polarization. According to the left, threatening to take away any of the free stuff the Feds give away is an act of terrorism. They actually have said that.

I thought the author was more positive about fertility. She observed that liberal men seem to have an irrational terror of women who have babies (and faith, and guns), as exemplified by Sarah Palin.
Only someone who’s just plain nuts (the referenced Mr. Goldberg) would see a picture of a woman in a burka and be reminded of a woman (Sarah) who is putting a great deal of effort into looking hot and making sure everyone knows it.
Maybe I misread it. I like that Sarah makes herself hot - if you got it, flaunt it, baby, flaunt it. It doesn’t last forever!

We older ladies with little children have to stay in shape. I can't do anything about being 63 when my Kathleen is 18, but I don't have to go to pieces.
