Sarah Palin finally gets real
Yahoo! News ^ | September 9, 2014 | Andrew Romano

Posted on 09/09/2014 11:20:16 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

I watched all 77 videos on her new online TV channel and lived to tell the tale. In fact, I was actually kind of … moved.

Sarah Palin still exists.

I know. I was beginning to have my doubts, too. Once upon a time, Palin was everywhere. On Fox News. On reality TV. On the cover of Time. And Newsweek. And Time. And Newsweek. And Time, and Newsweek, and Newsweek again.

Now Palin is none of those places. For most of us, she is but a receding image in the rearview mirror of human history — a bit of trivia to be trotted out on a future episode of "Who Remembers the Aughties?" That meticulous chestnut coif. Those glinting, frameless glasses. That chirpy "you betcha" accent. The Mama Grizzly herself.

And yet, as I recently discovered — the hard way — Palin is still with us. By "with" I mean starring in a steady stream of shoestring videos on her own Internet television station. And by "us" I mean "anyone who is willing to send Sarah Palin $9.95 a month or $99.95 a year for the privilege of watching said videos." (Palin's fellow yesteryear conservative Glenn Beck also relies on a subscription-based channel to maintain — and monetize — his political celebrity.)

Curious? Of course you are. (You clicked on this story, didn't you?) The sad truth, however, is that in these tough economic times, many Americans don’t have as much money to spend on Sarah Palin videos as they once did.

So I've decided to help out....

When did Gov. Sarah Palin "campaign for the White House" and how did I miss that? BTW, this was posted about nine hours ago and already has almost FOUR THOUSAND comments. Lest you think that that is common for any news article, much less one on the sad Yahoo! News, it isn't.

Once again, it's obvious she lives rent-free in the mind of the la-la libs and it just irks them to no end. I'm mostly amused, like you, and just wait for when she's able to turn it to her advantage. If the current polls hold, a GOP Senate could bring her roaring back to the fore!

Palin ran Alaska well, people got tax money back , they didn’t in most cases have to pay taxes.

She ran a tight ship, the only corruption was in Dem-ogogues
deranged imagination.

Alaska is NOT better off without her. Once forced to use her families money to defend from frivolous BS lawsuits, all of a sudden all the suits were dropped, very strange. Dems didn’t want to go to court, they knew they would lose. In the Bible that is FALSE WITNESS.

Palin is smarter, more experienced and a better speaker than Obama. We did worse with her on the side lines.

I can’t quite fathom why she would be the headliner for a $9.99 per month web site. It’s not like I disagree with her politically, it’s just she doesn’t the voice to really carry a show month by month.

Did she become toxic to the cable TV world and is now trying this? Has there been a successful model of this format of show? Or aside from porn is there a show feed for $9.99 a month exclusive content show?

Seems like an awfully shaky venture to be putting her fair amount of personal reputation on the line not to mention money.

Veers from sneering condescension to a grudging respect. I could boil the entire article down into two sentences: I know who Sarah Palin really is. I haven’t the faintest idea who Barack Hussein 0bama really is.

For libs to acknowledge that Sarah has a brain in her head is for them to admit they have none. It really is just that simple.

Did you bother to read the article? Glenn Beck has done it to great success.

Of course Sarah Palin “still exists” as the article condescendingly phrases it. And, not much longer from now, she'll "exist" at a new address when a Biblical-based Conservative uprising sweeps her and like-minded Patriots into power! Go Sarah go! Crush islam! Destroy Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and the rest of the DemonRATs! Take America back!

I dismissed Sarah Palin when she resigned as Governor of AK. I never have been able to figure that out. It gave me the impression she is a quitter.

I take great comfort in knowing that Mitt Romney is just a pleading phone call away from throwing his hat back into the ring for 2016...putz

He said yesterday he was getting behind a ‘strong’ contender for POTUS.. I can only assume he means Perry, he sure wasn’t talking about Cruz.

Then you didn't listen to her explanation then, and you haven't paid attention since then either.

The author is daft. She still has a contract with Fox News and the press still writes dozens and oft-times hundreds of articles about her each day, just like they have since 2008. BTW, two HUGE Hollywood heavyweights are behind this venture, as he mentions in the article. Nice “porn” reference there, which you would’ve NEVER said about a male politician, I’m sure. And who said that she put money into this?

Let’s face it. Romney is getting his face out there in the hopes that all of the other repubs fall flat on their face and the repub party has no choice but to turn to him to save the country.

Egos don’t shrink on their own...

BTW, I meant he’d only mean Perry as he knows Cruz wouldn’t touch him with a ten-foot pole.

I dismissed Sarah Palin when she resigned as Governor of AK. I never have been able to figure that out. It gave me the impression she is a quitter.

The mystery is why she didn't run in 2012, when her "listening tour" showed she'd win in a landslide.

Resigning as governor was obvious - Rats were exploiting a loophole in the law where they were able to file constnat frivolous suits against her (which they never won) that she had to defend with her own money, and which also took away from heer ability to run the State. After her nth win, the legislature should have admitted the abuse and fixed the loophole, but no way - they were behind the harassment in the first place. Stepping down under those conditions, IMO, was brilliant, and showed she cared more about Alaska than forcing the State to deal with her personal issues. That's true leadership.

Your impression that she is a quitter also has to ignore the tremendous fight she made - and again, won, against the entrenched good old boy Republican and oil factions up there, which no one had been able to crack. On the other hand, you're paid to mimic soccer-mom feeling-words and link them to the word quitter in order to target female middle-of-the road social conservatives who read this site, so I understand that part of your post very clearly.
