Letter: A review of Palin’s resume: She’s no idiot
The Glenwood Springs Post Independent ^ | July 24, 2014 | Floyd Diemoz

Posted on 07/25/2014 8:46:13 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The July 15 cartoon in the Post Independent showing Sara Palin as an impeachment buffoon reminds me of the recent rebranding of her as an “idiot” by progressives and their media disciples following speeches she gave at a conference in January. An idiot is a mentally deficient person below a moron or imbecile with an IQ under 25.

Those who over the past six years continue to call her nasty names should admit her down-to-earth resume and life experiences at the time she was placed on the Republican Presidential ticket in 2008 far exceed Barack Obama’s paper-thin resume.

Sara Palin: Elected to her hometown City Council (1992); Elected mayor, cut property taxes 75 percent (1996); Elected president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors (1999); Appointed to the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, and was the commission’s ethics supervisor, then chairman (2003); Filed an ethics complaint against a member of the Oil and Gas Commission, who was chairman of the state’s Republican Party, who resigned and paid a fine; Joined in an ethics complaint against Alaska’s Republican attorney general, who resigned; Defeated the incumbent Republican governor in the gubernatorial primary; Defeated the former Alaskan Democratic governor, at the age of 42, becoming the first female and youngest governor in Alaska’s history (2006); Strived to clean up Alaska’s good ol’ boy fraternity with an ethics reform bill, one of her first projects as governor; Reduced expenses 80 percent from the previous governor’s gubernatorial expenditures; Promoted oil and gas development in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge; and is a remarkable fisherman, hunter, homemaker and mother, all this along with a sense of humor.

She was unmercifully vilified precisely because her accomplishments were substantial when compared to Sen. Obama’s. It’s a mystery how she accomplished so much when so many continue to believe her a low-IQ idiot. With her success in rooting out dishonest and unethical politicians there is little wonder that our media despises her call for our president’s impeachment.

Most libs know nothing about her and never have listened to her. They rely on caricatures on comedy “news” shows and groupthink. They pretend compassion and tolerance but loathed baby Trig. I remember a picture of her in a national magazine, maybe Time, where her eyes were photoshopped to make her look goofy and cross-eyed. A VP candidate in a national magazine. Most Liberals have never progressed past petty, mean-spirited Junior High pranks.

Part of me loves her,and I’d love to see her become President, but she’s too much of a smart-ass to be a respected President.

She should sound more like the speech she gave after the Arizona tragedy years ago- that sounded dignified.

Guess you haven’t caught many of the speeches, off-the-cuff comments and other antics from our current chief executive and his lovely wife.

She was unmercifully vilified precisely because her accomplishments were substantial when compared to Sen. Obama’s.

While true, the real reason was much more insidious.

Sara Palin was vilified because she was a serious threat to become the first woman president.

Democrats have been ruthless in protecting the mantle of "First _______" for themselves. They want to be the party of firsts in all categories. First Black President, first Woman President, first Hispanic President, and so on. It began when Democrats ran Geraldine Ferarro as the first Woman Vice-Presidential candidate in 1984.

Look at how Democrats reacted when President Bush nominated Miguel Estrada to the federal DC circuit court in 2001. They vilified Estrada because they feared he would become the "first Hispanic Supreme Court Justice." Democrats won and Estrada withdrew his nomination. Democrat-nominated Sonia Sotomayor became the first Hispanic Supreme Court Justice.

Only Ronald Reagan's appointment of Sandra Day O'Connor to the Supreme Court in 1981 keeps the Democrats from a shut-out on the "Firsts" card.

Now, the pattern repeats with Sara Palin as she threatens the title of First Woman President.

I know a guy who barely got through high school say he hates Palin because she’s stupid.

I know another idiot who finally got a college degree with he was over 50. He so wanted to be a college professor. But he figured out a little late that being old with a degree and no experience makes a degree worthless. He, too, says Palin is stupid.

The political left should refrain from mentioning levels of intelligence. 99% of the Left come from the LEFT side of the Bell Curve. And intellectual maturity is arrested with the onset of marijuana use. If an adult acts like a 13-year-old, then 13 is the age that person started smoking marijuana.

And she is beautiful inside and outside!

She is Ronald Reagan with a figure.

I wish she would run as an independent and win!

Used to be Imus could say ANY outrageous thing & it came out funny, especially when he was being birddogged by McGuirk & McCord. He was pretty much equal opportunity when it came to politicians.

Then.....in 2007 Imus completely knuckled under to Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson over the `nappy headed ho’s’ comment. Groveling would have been more dignified that what Imus did to curry their favor.

Why didn’t he unleash his outrageousness on those two & call them every name in the book, say come and get me coppers, and remind them he wore a revolver on his belt? Imus would have approached national-hero status if he did.

Haven’t listened to him since. Maybe Sharpton still has him paying `jizya’ through his Palin-bashing. Off the record remarks? Imus knows by now there ain’t no such thing.

Anyway, the uglier the ho, the bigger the Palin hater. IMO.

What small town woman mayor takes down the good ol’ boy incumbent Republican Governor of her own party? What other Governor as CIC of the only full-time A/NG has control over silos full of nuclear missiles and regularly gets high level security briefings from the Pentagon? I bet she been to more of those than Ø.

I have seen him. I think secretly very few respect BHO anymore. People see him for what he is.

Maybe I’m wrong,though.

I had 2 liberals in my office... now on to other jobs, that would run her down and just parrot the talking points they heard. I tried providing links about her but they would not even click on them.

As Rush says “Liberalism is a mental disease”
