It's something most students learn in elementary school -- the United States is made up of 50 states and the District of ColumbiaStudents in Indonesia are taught that there are 57 states.

I tend to agree with the TSA agent. From out here in the real world, DC does seem like a foreign country. They don’t speak the same language and they don’t have the same value system.
Washington DC is the Lindsay Lohan of the planet.

When I was in college, one of my roommates was carded when he ordered a beer.
He's from Puerto Rico, and presented his license. At the time, P.R. driver's licenses didn't have a photo on them.
The bouncer said: "This is fake! I'm confiscating it!"
