I agree. I am a big American history buff and love this country as it was in the history books. But its not the same country anymore and sometimes its really hard to be proud. :-(

It wasn’t Bush, it was 9-11.

Wow, where did you get this? I am keeping a copy but would need the source if I ever quote it.

I love what America WAS. More strongly than anything.

But now? Not only a populace that is willing to elect a marxist thug once but TWICE, but a government and a culture that equates two perverted homos as the same equivalent as a husband-and-wife?

I can NEVER be proud of this country as long as it accepts and wallows in this kind of sick depravity.

I’ll always be proud of the ideals of America, as enshrined in the Constitution. All have been subverted in practice - and this without representation. I am no longer proud of her actions all too frequently, as mentioned by many here.

I would like to see a poll asking if people they like living in America. Sometimes I am not proud of what my country does but I would not want to live anywhere else.

I love my country. I am NOT proud of what is has become.

I despise each and every American that is responsible for what it is now.

That includes not just the active haters and deliberate destroyers, but all of the see nothing, don’t care ignorant no/low information people.

Like the (economically) successful in law I have that has much more money than I as well as the other in law that has not worked a day in 40 years and collects more in government benefits each month than I will in SS after working every one of those same days.

This is precisely what the Liberals want. They want us to be disgusted and to loose our sense of what it is to be an American. It’s the whole point of the anti-American bias and the continued drone of “multiculturalism” that they preach.

It’s hard to have pride in Sodom and Gomorah. I’m not proud, I’m fearful of the hell that’s coming.

Perhaps, then, it is time to do a Bidenian partition of the US into 3 parts:
- an East Coast country, Essex,
- a West Coast country, Wessex
a Central/South country, Middlessex.

It splits fairly naturally, except for IL (an E. coast state in the midwest) and perhaps MN. All 3 have ports. Most of the oil is in Middlesex, but that's Ok because the Essex and Wessex governments don't like fossil fuels, anyway.

Some of the states near the borders may want to either hold a plebiscite or split (e.g. VA into NVA and SVA), so most citizens get their wish. E. MD would not be happy in Essex but could join up with SVA in Middlesex. E. Washington and Oregon may also want to join up with Middlesex.

All 3 new countries could do what they like to do: Essex to have high taxes, strong unions, and take in lots of welfare recipients, Wessex take as many of the illegals as they want and practice LGBT to their heart's content, Middlesex could continue with their old value system, hunt, and put up a fence along the Mex border. The armed forces would be split equally between the 3 new countries who could then fund their pieces as their citizens prefer.

The blacks would be roughly equally split between Middlesex and Essex if they stayed in situ but could and would move to another country as they desire, as could the Amerinds.

Proud to be an American?

Yep.

My Country, right or wrong. My Country, first, foremost, always. My Country, that gave me the opportunity to be anything I wanted to be, whether success or failure or all points in between. My Country, that my ancestors fought, bled and died for.

My Country, always.

We’re on a bad course right now; that’s because of a percentage of people that are idiots and tools.

Life’s a wheel. What goes around, comes around, in the life of a person, a people, and a Nation.

But I’m STILL an American, and those people don’t represent me, nor my Country.

Some might say that’s a little too “rah-rah” flag waving... but then again, those people are irrelevant anyway...

Proud to be American even if half of the country isn’t. I don’t care about them. They are morons and ingrates. One thing is certain, our country is in rapid decline.

Wonder if that split could be vitrual, and not necessarily geographic.

Yes, sir...we're not perfect, nor have we ever been. But we're the closest thing to a perfect society and nation that has ever graced God's Green Earth. We've made mistakes in the past, and we've corrected them We're making mistakes now, but we will eventually correct them. It won't be easy; it'll be painful, hard, terrifying, and maybe even bloody, but we will fix our problems one way or another.

Please forgive a variation of the last paragraph from the opening speech in Patton, but one day I will go to meet my Maker. General Patton will be there, and will ask me what I did in the Second American War for Independence. At least I won't have to look him in the eye and say, "Well sir, I shoveled sh!t in the Philippines."

Dawg Soldiers up! Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
