It's hard to give The Obama Administration the benefit of the doubt in accepting the reason for confiscating 192 heavily armed, highly maneuverable Apache helicopters as a money-saving move. When one considers that this 'cost saving' move comes from an administration which regularly runs trillion-dollar deficits and, to date, has proposed no less than 442 tax increases since taking office in January 2009, the idea of saving money for the American taxpayer is a bit hard to swallow.

With the recent, attempted seizure of the Bundy family ranch in Nevada by more than 200 armed federal officers, including many snipers, we know that the Obama administration is not afraid to use force against the American people. I would have to consider the confiscation of these helicopters a worrisome move. (gulp!)

Can’t we just call it a “Recall” for repairs? That’s the ticket for liberals.

It just wouldn’t do for the militia to have
apache choppers in the line up.

Why does the National Guard need Apaches?

The Examiner isn’t a real anything, and nobody confiscated anything.

Moving things from active to Guard and vice-versa is a normal activity.

As if the Obama administration's purchase of more than 2 billion rounds of ammunition, and nearly 3,000 urban tanks

What 3,000 "tanks"?

And why is saving 12 billion dollars a bad thing?

Here is a Heritage Foundation article, a source better than this nutcase.

The Heritage Foundation:
Congress Should Avert Delays in the Army’s Aviation Restructuring Plans

“The Army’s decision to transfer AH-64 Apache helicopters from the National Guard to the active force has sparked a debate that ultimately concerns the roles, missions, and contributions of these ground components. Congress should prevent unnecessary delays in the implementation of these plans while making a stronger commitment to providing the resources that the armed forces need to maintain national security.”
(snip)
“Congress should support the Army’s efforts to rebalance its assets in a way that benefits both active and Guard components. This can be done by resisting attempts to slow the plan from being executed as quickly as possible while also striving to fund the requirements of the Army and other services more robustly.

Win-Win for Active Army and National Guard

As proposed, the Army’s Aviation Restructure Concept will transfer all of the Guard’s 192 AH-64 Apache attack helicopters to the active component and 15 percent of the active component’s UH-60 Blackhawk utility helicopters to the Guard and Reserve.”

Aren’t NG units deployed in combat situations? I know the 69th NY has been deployed at least twice to Iraq. These units are expected to fit seamlessly into the Toe of their operations command. How does transferring the Apache sustain a unit’s ability to perform it’s mission? I really don’t want to go all tinfoil here but 30 years ago ABC did a mini series called Amerika. The Soviets had taken over using EMPs.They divided the nation into five zones and allowed each zone a locally raised guard, but much less well armed than the US troops that were the true occupying force.A poorly armed militia is a scary thought.

That’s because they have features that are not strictly for Sporting Purposes.

Liberals always telegraph their fears. First, they scrapped the National Guard's A-10s. Now, they are sequestering their Apaches.

Can anyone say, "Vulnerable DHS MRAPs"?

~~~~~~~~~~~
Obviously 0b0z0 & Holder know on whose side the National Guard will stand when it hits the fan. And they expect that time to be soon.
Now might be a good time to establish good contact with your friends, relatives, and colleagues who are now on active duty... 0b0z0 may have "turned" some of their leaders, but the troops mostly despise him and all he stands for...
I'm not a reactionary or one who gets off into conspiracy theory's but this sure seems like a move to make sure the sates can not protect themselves against the feds. That brings about the question of "why would we have to protect ourselves against the federal government?"
The obvious answer is that our president intends to be presidnet for life.
For the first time I'm starting to believe that obama intends to rule our nation by force as a dictator.
Kind of scary the way this is all going. When you add in how he has purged the military leadership it is all starting to become very clear.
I do not want this to happen and I hate how this is all playing out but that is where logic takes us.
Now it is not too hard to see where all the ammunition has been going the last couple of years. They have succeeded in keeping the vast majority out of the hands of the populace. That was their goal. The important question is not where it whet, but where it did not go.
Add it up folks, it isn't looking good.
What about the crews? Will htey be transferred to active duty, retrained as Blackhawk pilots, or pushed out of guard service?
"There are a few governors around the country who would not stand for martial-law being arbitrarily declared by this or any president, but without any teeth (i.e. Apache attack helicopters) what could they use to stop Obama's tyranny?"
Simple, open the armories.
These helicopters are but a small piece.
I'd druther face 192 of them than 10mil very angry American men with good rifles.
Obozo wants to control all the effective weapons so that Putin and the Chicoms will have almost no trouble when they invade the US. Another Red Dawn is in the offing, methinks. Wolverines!! mates. Keep your powder dry and stock up on the essentials.
in light of the raid that was done on the Bundy ranch, this can't be good.
