Couldn't we just as easily say "GM has now repaid every taxpayer dollar the previous Administration committed to its rescue, plus billions invested by my Administration?"
Via WhiteHouse.gov:
When I took office, the American auto industry the heartbeat of American manufacturing was on the verge of collapse. Two of the Big Three GM and Chrysler were on the brink of failure, threatening to take suppliers, distributors and entire communities down with them. In the midst of what was already the worst recession since the Great Depression, another one million Americans were in danger of losing their jobs. That nuanced change still omits the fact taxpayers lost $10.5-billion.
As President, I refused to let that happen. I refused to walk away from American workers and an iconic American industry. But in exchange for rescuing and retooling GM and Chrysler with taxpayer dollars, we demanded responsibility and results. In 2011, we marked the end of an important chapter as Chrysler repaid every dime and more of what it owed the American taxpayers from the investment we made under my Administrations watch. Today, were closing the book by selling the remaining shares of the federal governments investment in General Motors. GM has now repaid every taxpayer dollar my Administration committed to its rescue, plus billions invested by the previous Administration. [...]
Can we have an audit of those books?
Pray America is Waking
And what about all of the GM dealerships owned by white owners which were forced to close while black dealership owners were spared?
What about the $10 billion loss from selling all the GM shares, you lying POS?
More out and out lies
He is a pathological liar. No other explanation.
Wait...he COULD be an a disciple of Alinsky, to whom no lie was too big not to be worth uttering as long as it was a means to justify their ends.
That would be another explanation.
The Lawless Won lies again.
Whereas if Infidels are involved, deception is less about "smoothing over differences", and more about lying as a specific means to gaining an advantage in The House of War.
Taqiyya and all that .
Your doubts are well founded.
Thanks Askwhy5times.

“GM has now repaid every taxpayer dollar my Administration committed to its rescue, plus billions invested by the previous Administration.”
Obama is honest for once. Bush invested our money in GM while Obama simply committed our money to GM.
Obama is ONLY counting the CASH the taxpayers gave GM - THAT has been all paid back.
The taxpayers ALSO bought GM stock - we have now sold all of it, at a $10 BILLION loss ...
You can’t believe a damned word out of his mouth. He’s worse than Clinton.
I totally agree.
I thought we lost 10 billion there...??
Again?
My Christmas wish is that GM goes belly up SOON.
FGM, FUAW, and FBHO
On top of the theft of the company from its actual owners. How much capital did that destroy?
