don’t drink Perrier water. It has benzene (a known carcegen) in it.
Google coconut oil.
Dang, here I thought Perrier was good. Yikes. I will check out coconut oil, thanks.
there is one more thing I can tell you,
it is for while you are dieting (and after, too)...
sometimes we get crazed for food....
we just have to go eat....
the trick is to have a refrigerator (and pantry) with as few calories in it as possible
it should have empty space and... vegies ... and similar very very low calorie foods
this way, if you get crazed (like most of us do) and try to go gorge on chow, you will wind up stuffing yourself full of things that don’t have calories (it works to a considerable degree, it satisfies the emotional and motor impulses to consume food.........and the bulk alone will fill you up.... without need of that bulk containing many calories)
a third thing, consult your m.d. first and during the process.... of course.
a 4th thing, take a good multi-vitamin/mineral pill each day just as a precaution... because a weight loss diet can also be easily unbalanced insofar as essential nutrients
ok, i will quiet down now. i wish you all the success in the world....
it CAN be done, and you really WILL feel a whole lot better when you have gotten rid of the excess weight.
nobody can feel good when they are carrying around extra baggage all day. at the very least, it tires a person out
best,

“know processed foods are crap, but they are easy and convenient.”
All things in moderation, right?
My 34 year old son let himself get to a very bad weight. Don’t think he wanted to believe he was as heavy as he was. Funny how you can fool yourself.
Anyway on Jan. 2nd of this year he decided he needed to lose weight. In 10 months he is down 104 pounds with 26 more to go. He had achieved this through nothing but cutting his calories and working out. Not cardio. Lifting weights mostly. He looks and feels fantastic. In the end it’s really about how manly calories you eat and how many you use every day. No special diet is needed, unless you have health issues.
Congratulations to your son, that is an awesome weight loss story! I couldn’t agree with you more, I don’t think fad diets or specific foods are required to lose. My motto is simple, eat less and exercise. This has always worked for me. Thank you for posting. I wish your son the best in his weight loss journey, wow, I’m inspired!
Wow... He got chunky!
He’d be embarassed to know that I was bragging about him but I am proud of him. He really had to do something before it was too late. I had horrible nightmares about having to cut him out of the house.
He actually claims that it hasn’t been that hard for him, but I think he just likes to pretend it’s no big deal.
I’m kind of a crazy person. I work out two to three hours a day so I can eat some things I like. Unfortunately, I’m 56 and this has caused a lot of overuse injuries, which I’ve had to have several surgeries for. I don’t recommend anybody follow my plan. :) Eating fewer calories and working out resonably is a much better plan.
I wish you much luck. I know it’s more difficult when you are older and a woman, since I’m one. He’s still young enough that it’s easier.
Keep us posted.
Man, that sounds awful! Doesn't exercise work to speed up the metabolism? Maybe the thyroid thing prevents it? Then again, not everybody is wired to enjoy activity, either. I'm lucky. I love my workout. It's not a chore, it's a treat.
Year after year, or eating only 1300 calories a day? Man. I couldn't handle that!!!
6` 250#, been 250# for 30yrs and the weight doesn`t change, just the composition. I stopped driving after 9-11 and became a serious walker 5mi day fairly consistently...never lost any weight, my stomach tightened up a fraction and my legs and butt massed up. I also practice some martial art exercises, I used to lift weights but now I stay lo impact and natural exercise. No diet, just anything healthy on sale...I`ll always be a fireplug but a healthy one.
Blood sugar always below normal, blood pressure in the hypotensive range, resting pulse rate 30s (really) and so far at 52 my joints and back are very limber, which I guess I should be thankful for. A vegetarian tattooist moved into the neighborhood (!) and asked me if I could touch my toes; I pressed my wrists to the ground and invited him on my 5 miler...declined!
Sounds like you’re in good health. I don’t consider 6’ 250 overweight...I’m assuming you’re a man.Sometimes the height weight charts don’t make sense, lots of people carry a lot of muscle, making them weigh more, but they look to weigh a lot less than they really do.
The time you are exercising you are not eating as well.
Women are about 1700 calories a day and men are about 2300. Try low cal veggies hot and stuff the pie hole till the tummy shrinks 3 days later, then do other things if you can.
My skinny grandma had no throid and my fat sister in the same condition eats endlessly and somehow can’t lose weight.
OMG that’s hysterical! ;-)
Just put on a burka and hide the visual polution!
That would be taking the easy way out...
Mean thyroid.
Among my friends I am indeed the Official Mover of Heavy Things. I used to bet people I could get out of any headlock...the laughter began when they found my 22” neck simply narrows to my pointy head...nothing whattever to grab onto! (I wonder if a yeti got into the cabbage patch somehow...hmmm)
First, a 5'9” woman looks great at 130, pretty good at 150, and can pass her own reflection without absolute horror at 185. Maybe, depending on the woman. Beyond that, please don't say you didn't notice.
Second, she never really investigated the diets she tried, so she never found low carb. She hoped to exercise it off, which doesn't work unless you commit to the time, and the wear and tear on your joints.
Third, “How things have changed! My refrigerator now contains lots of yogurt, bottles of water and Perrier, frozen Lean Cuisine dinners and Protein drinks. Nutrition bars are my new friend. “....
LOL! Lean Cuisine, Perrier, and Nutrition bars? She's not serious.
Try fruit, veggies, and proteins.
