Proposed changes to a city ordinance in San Antonio, Texas, are capturing attention, mainly because of the addition of some controversial and vague language that critics believe will lead to a crackdown on free speech.
Gay rights activists and select officials in the city are looking to revamp the city's anti-discrimination ordinance to include "sexual orientation" and "sexual identity." So, what does this mean, exactly?
The new text, if adopted, could essentially ban citizens who have shown a bias in these areas from serving on commissions and in local government posts. Meaning: If you oppose homosexuality and have shown that opposition in "word or deed" that you could be precluded from holding these positions.
The goal with these inclusions is to protect the individuals who fall under these categories from discrimination. Already, San Antonio's policy protects people on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex and age and "handicap" (this latter group is also being changed to "disability" in a draft version of the new ordinance). One News Now calls the new sexual orientation and gender identity language "unprecedented." And according to a report in Biz Pac Review, "The city is looking to update its anti-discrimination policies by adding sexual orientation and gender identity as protected categories, and plans to punish those who speak out against homosexuality."

Most of them are CINOs. Sure, they love the pageantry and the visual trappings but don't really embrace the orthodoxy of the Church's teachings.
Their heritage is socialism and the cradle-to-grave nanny state. Just take a look at their home country, a third world cesspool with rampant corruption and a sky-high crime rate. And they bring those liberal "values" over the Rio Grande when they come here: 63% of Babies Aborted in Texas Are Black or Hispanic.
Dear Lord, please allow the Civil War to start in order for me to save my nation. We cannot co-exist with liberals and they really need to go. Kindly arm me with weapons and firearms that will make short work of these Godless heathens called liberals. Kicking them in the face and smashing their heads in with a baseball bat is not enough. If you wish for your religion to prosper, then liberals have to go. They dont believe in You anyway, so give me the strength to destroy our enemies.
Amen

Someone in Austin needs to start a grocery delivery co-op that buys groceries from out of town, so as to deny Austin their sales taxes.
“Most of them are CINOs.”
Are you a Catholic?
I’m sorry if this has already been mentioned. I would argue the following constitutionally based point against such an ordinance. The Founding States made the Constitution’s Clause 3 of Article VI to protect people from not having to satisfy a religious test in order to be an officer of the federal government. So it seems reasonable that, since the 14th Amendment applied all constitutional priviliges and immunities, including Clause 3, to the states, that citizens cannot be banned from local government posts on the basis of their religious beliefs, traditional one man, one woman marriage reflecting Christian beliefs.
In fact, the Supreme Court possibly took Clause 3 into consideration when it found DOMA unconstitutional.
I have a little flag thingy that has a big red stripe—and a big white stripe with a blue field to the left and a large white star— I love the reaction when I tell transplants that it is either the national flag of Chile —or the State flag of Texas I got it from a Chile Texan. some say that might start a range war if told in Texas— or Chile.
Sheeeeze.. Be careful my FRiend, there might be a bounty on your #ss.. :)
What’s your thoughts on contraception?
I think it's sinful and, ergo, frankly wrong. It's not a issue for an individual to decide based on his "feelings" but is a matter covered without ambiguity by God's Eternal Law.
I am very traditional in the area of sex and human relationships. Of course, I oppose homosexuality, incest and pedophilia in all forms. But, perhaps contrary to some FReepers, my moral absolutism also doesn't tolerate adultery, cohabitation, divorce (see adultery) and pornography.
I hope that answers your question even at the risk of my moral Conservatism perhaps opening me to some ridicule, even here. By the way, I don't drink alcoholic beverages for pleasure -- not that there's anything wrong with it. That perhaps just gives you some additional insight on how I see things. I've been called a prude but I don't mind since the word stems from prudent and I think it wise to be prudent when it comes to God's Word.
Not very tolerant, are they?
I say that prayer every night, even during Sundays mass.

It’s an important issue for Catholics in particular. We need all the allies we can get, there ARE faithful Catholics and writing off Catholics (hispanic or not), isn’t going to help us.
“That perhaps just gives you some additional insight on how I see things.”
Indeed it does. Thank you for indulging my curiousity.
You're more than welcome and although we do have our differences, it was good to engage in a thoughtful conversation with you.
