Ok I've been asked by a few members of the Preppers Ping list to start a weekly thread to post things like good preparedness supply buys, small discoveries and helpful hints which possible by themselves would make a interesting thread, but would be of interest to fellow preppers. So here goes. I'll try and do this every Friday and see how it goes.
TOPICS: Society
KEYWORDS: getreadyhereitcomes; preparedness; preparednessping; prepperping; preppers; prepperweekly; survivalping

My contribution for this week is that I found some 275 gallon food grade plastic totes for sale on craigslist. $100 if picked up $125 delived. This would give you a month and half to two months of water for a family of four.

Good idea —
At the very least, it’ll be a place for the scoffers and naysayers to hang out... ;)

We're also going to try to replace some of our older servers and failing equipment this year so we're going to add a little extra to our FReepathon goals. John is estimating ten to fifteen thousand to do this and I'd like to get it all in place and working before the election cycle is fully heated up, so we'll try to bring in a little more now if we can and the rest next quarter.

Thanks. Please add me to your list of Preppers.
Let me give a word to those living in cities or close to them:
If you can’t leave now, at least try to find a place away, far away, from the fan, before the stuff hits it. It’s gonna be UGLY....

Some food grade plastics are vulnerable to UV, so I'd check the specs and keep them covered or inside.

A couple of thoughts - the water in the toilet tank is drinkable.
Also, you can bleed the house lines for a few gallons.

Too True ...
But also , it may provoke a few ‘newbies’ into ‘prepping’.
Moreover, it may provide insight into things we might have otherwise forgotten, or over looked .

Great idea-those containers are very common out here where I live-nearly all of us have at least one in case our wells get too low in dry years (like the last one). They’re used for rain capture, and/or storing water purchased from other sources.

Don’t forget your hot water heater(s).
Especially if you have more than one,
that’s over a hundred gallons.
