Would a Romney Presidency Be Worse for the Conservative Cause Than a Second Term for Obama?

It would be worse from my perspective simply because I don’t know if I could take another two years of the brown-nosing I’ve seen in the freshly-uncovered establishment media. Romney worship is spreading like a cancer over everything I used to enjoy listening to.

I don’t think you’ll have to wait until 2014 for a group of Tea Party renegades like yours truly to branch off into a third party, though. Any success of Romney’s candidacy spells the end of the GOP.

Given the opportunity, Obama will appoint another leftist radical to the Supreme Court. And then, another. Would Romney do the same? I think the answer is worth pondering. I can think of only one compelling reason to ever consider voting for Romney as opposed to staying home, and this is it.

CA would've been better off had RINO Arnold Schwarzenegger lost the governorship to Cruz Bustamonte.

He didn't do a damn thing to change the state's destructive glide path. What he did do was quiet the popular outcry against the state careening leftward, because now we had a republican in charge.

“No, for one reason: Supreme Court.”

If Romney wins he will be a one termer and could lead to a two term liberal democrat. So is 1 term of borderline GOP appointments worth 2 terms of dem ones? Also, only a quarter of Romney’s appointments in Mass were even Republican.

With Obama in, Republicans in Congress would be more united in opposing him.

With Romney in, Republicans in Congress would be divided in opposing any pro-socialism initiatives from him. Romney+RINOs+Democrats beats conservatives.

Your post exactly captures what I've been thinking.

o, I don't like Romney. But if he ends up being the nominee, I will vote for him. Anything is better than 4 more years of Obama.

At least we will decline slower under Romney, giving us a little more time to get the conservative message out, and to get real conservatives in local positions so they can start moving up the "food chain" so to speak.

Above all else, RINOs must be punished ! We are in a war for the survival of our country and Mitt Romney is the Benedict Arnold of 2012 ! This must be dealt with BEFORE we can win against our enemies the democrats.

I intend to write in George Washington for president and vote conservative on all other ballot measures.

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

Before you use the Supreme Court as an excuse for voting for Romney, take a look at the judges he appointed, as well as those he appointed to give him a list of judges from which to choose.

Check out Romney’s record on judges in Taxachusett’s. I believe most were very liberal.

>>>No, for one reason: Supreme Court.<<<

I once felt that way as well, but the more I learn about Romney, the more I think his nominees would be just as bad as Obama’s. Plus, it would be hard for the Republicans in Senate to vote down or fillibuster a Liberal activist nominee, nominated by a “Republican” president.

Romney is every bit as Liberal/Socialist as Hussein. Hussein is just more open about it.

I have said many times if it is Romney and Obama, I will vote for Obama. Even though I have been a staunch Republican for over 40 years I will not be a hypocrite or liar. If I have the choice voting for a liberal or a Republican who is lying when he says he is not like Obama, I will vote for the liberal who is being honest. Romney is worse than Obama Lite, he is Obama wannabee and I will vote for the actual one.

DAMN, DAMN, DAMN.

Now just think about what having a Republican like that will do to the conservative cause in 2014 and beyond. Time and again, when Republicans start acting like 80%-ers (or RINO's, Democrat-Lites, etc.) the base stays home and the Republicans get decimated at the ballot box. After all, what is the point of voting for Republicans if they act like Democrats?
Yes. Precisely. Well argued. Great post. Thank you.

At the risk of being flamed, absolutely not! Like Mark Levin says, he'd vote for an orange juice can over Obama.

I don't like Romney at all, but it will be a no brainer if he wins, Obama is truly horrid, truly a Marxist, truly 100% destructive. Right now we have to work to make sure it's not Romney who opposes him because I think he's the one candidate who might not be able to beat Obama.

I can quit the Tea party over Romney too.

Certainly if the Tea party starts supporting Romney I will just drop out.

I despise mitt the twit and do not want to see him as the nominee because he would probably lose by emulating mccain and dole.

That said; if he is (God forbid) the nominee I believe it would be infinitely better to have him rather than der Fuehrer. Get a grip! Obama and the democrat party ARE THE ENEMY and we know exactly what they will do to the country and Constitution if he gets a second term. We at least have a chance of saving the Constitution even with mitt rather than the nazi socialist POS currently driving the nation into socialism.

Too many conservatives pushed out and cheered the removal of real conservatives from the race because they didn’t have “fire in the belly” or they were accused of this or that, or the voters will believe the lies and accusations hurled at them, or they are stupid, or they don’t exactly represent my views. This thinking has once again pushed us into this Hobson’s Choice.

Yes, yes, yes! We are at the point now where the lesser of two evils may be the only choice. We listened to all the BS about who cares about voting for mccain because four years of obama would move everyone away from the democrats. What we ended up with is far worse than almost any of the predictions and continuing it for four more years will seal the death warrant for the country.

Whomever the candidate is, fully support him and get rid of the democrat party enemy.

Why do I keep reading people are going to write in some candidate or other for president, when there are attractive third party candidates. Since it’s a protest vote why not get a little bit of good out of it?
