Time to close ranks behind Romney. He will beat Obama.

Yeah but if they support Romney, are they really conservatives? All the info they need is on FR. There’s no excuse for their choice.

My fear is that Romney will give a great speech at the Convention, and will suck in many here, who now proclaim they will never vote for him.

Don’t fall for it.

I would have taken Giuliani over Romney in a heartbeat.

I haven't been touting Romney at FR

Plutarch...since you can't be zotted for lurking, I'll still direct this comment to you...

This comment wasn't "so" as of 2007 and early '08. (You did tout Romney then)

I don't agree that Romney is a RINO...

Well, since you're an Episcopalian, "liberal" has been quite redefined within that denomination. What used to be anathema spelled out by leaders like Spong -- or positional boundaries on homosexuality -- have been tossed by the wayside.

IOW, too many Episcopalians' views of what constitutes "liberal" or "conservative" have become quite skewed as that church body has moved continually "left."

They’re both liberals. I wouldn’t take either one.

Giuliani’s saving grace was that I think he would have been good on the “War on Terror.” But then again even 2008 the choices were pretty bad as well.

I liked Duncan Hunter. We ended up with a loser. It was what the Republican elites wanted.

It was...
The Giuliani supporters were throwing themselves from the walls.
A literal madhouse.
And some of them would wait until the thread quieted down because people went to bed before adding their “Yay Giuliani in drag” posts.

NOT touting Romney?? How about TRASHING non-Romney's? That counts too doesn't it?

Why else did I have to put a block on you because your posts were so disgusting?

Woo-hoo to these two wonderful zots! (my killfile can get lighter by two)

AFA the Mittbots some of them (3 of the zots today alone I know of) are supporting Mitt simply because of “identity politics”. Sad to say, but true.

Other people are just that stupid, or lazy. During the 1996 election cycle, MrR and I wrote a voter guide for our area and I realized how many people rely on those rather than do the research themselves. The MSM and GOP ‘elite’ want Romney and far too many people just take other peoples word on how or who to vote for.

What I find ironic is that the Giuliani ‘zotting’ was based a lot (not entirely) on his real messed up personal life and affairs. Sure he was more liberal but as a long time reader of FR I remember a lot of posts about Giuliani being an adulterer and such and social conservatives were (rightfully) outraged.

Now the owner of FR is behind a candidate who is a serial adulterer, who sat on a freakin couch with Pelosi and asked for money and such. Somehow I believe in ‘08 he would of zotted himself under these circumstances.

I am no Romney supporter, but I just wonder, if somehow he gets elected and then governs as a conservative whether Jim Rob would do a mea culpa and allow some of these posters back in.

There’s always next time.
Every time Ron Paul says something stupid, his supporters contort themselves into amazing shapes trying to excuse it.

I enjoyed your simplistic Monday morning quarterback analysis. It agrees with the left-wing Village Voice opinion, that’s for sure. They hate Giuliani as well. I tend to agree with the conservative National Review’s opinion, however:

“In retrospect, it seems clear that the command center’s location was the consensus choice of a number of top officials, Hauer and Giuliani included, who could not foresee what would happen on September 11. It was a reasonable decision given the available information.”

*************************

9/11 was the second attack on the World Trade Center. Giuliani made a grave error in not recognizing the danger, and thousands of people died.

Yes, the first attack was in 1993, a bomb in the underground parking garage.
That was also Al-Qaeda/Bin Laden related.
But Bill Clinton couldn’t be bothered to remove himself from his interns long enough to do anything worth doing.
So his claim that “Bin Laden hadn’t yet done anything legally against us” as his excuse not to go after him is also proven false by the 1993 attack.

Giuliani should have taken a hint from the ‘93 attack.
He didn’t.
