I have written before about one of my close friends and her bout with stage 4 cancer...her name is Cori Scheppe. She is very much fighting for her life as we speak at the moment...Cori was rushed during the night to Dallas Presb. Hospital where she just underwent emergency surgery from a tumor that burst in her intestines. The surgeon's found more patches of cancer that they removed and more tumors in the intestine walls that they were unable to get to and expected those to burst as well.
The cancer spread to her brain about 2 months ago.
The Coreen Scheppe Cancer fund has been established in an effort to help offset the exorbitant health care costs for Coreen Cori Scheppe. Cori is currently battling a form of cancer known as Carcinosarcoma with stage 4 metastasis. Carcinosarcoma is a malignant tumor that is a mixture of carcinoma (cancer of epithelial tissue, which is skin and tissue that lines or covers the internal organs) and sarcoma (cancer of connective tissue, such as bone, cartilage and fat). Cori was originally diagnosed in August of 2009, with what was originally identified as cervical cancer. After a 6-week bout of radiation and chemotherapy to reduce the size of the tumor, she underwent a full hysterectomy in November of that same year.
After a follow up in January of 2010, the doctors felt confident that the tumor had been removed successfully and found no other signs of concern.
Unfortunately, during her follow up in April, doctors told Cori that they had found a spot on her lung. At the time, it was discovered that when the original tumor was removed and biopsied, it was found not to be the cervical cancer originally diagnosed, but rather a carcinosarcoma. She was immediately scheduled for surgery in May and during which had the upper lobe of her left lung removed. After a grueling recovery, she was back into an aggressive chemotherapy regimen. As 2010 winds down, Cori is still undergoing chemotherapy and there is no long-term prognosis. Her chemotherapist says her status is under observation and they are going to continue to monitor the situation very closely.
Cori is a 37-year-old mother of two boys. She has been married for 14 years and currently resides just outside of Dallas, TX. She is a lover of all animals and her house has often been referred to as a zoo in the literal sense of the word, like a Dr. Doolittle. She has taken in many animals of all varieties over the years, typically rescues and adoptions. Unfortunately, one of the burdens this disease has brought her was the need to get rid of many of those she has cared for, most recently her two beloved horses.
With a love for the outdoors, especially camping, fishing, hiking and off-roading Cori tries to take advantage of every possible opportunity to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air, while looking forward to a day when there are no limits to where she can go or when. Cori attends a local Cowboy Church, which fits well with her love of animals and good, down to earth people. The church has been an outstanding source of caring and support and she is looking forward to having the opportunity to give back to those that have been so gracious to her during this time.
She would like to thank everyone for his or her thoughts, prayers, well wishes and contributions. This has been a trying time for her and her entire family and the support and generous donations provided are more than appreciated!
(Note** The description and write up is from her foundation page and has not been updated in months due to the chronic and constant changes of her condition. She tends to update her personal page every day when able to on Facebook and has written out diaries on the Foundation Facebook page)
Cori is a devout Christian Conservative and leaves everything in God's hands....I ask of you today to please pray in Jesus name to show mercy on Cori and her family. We are all a tight nit group and this is like watching a sister being attacked every second of the day.

Can you hit up the Texas group for me? Thanks.
We ask especially for the intercession of St. Peregrine Laziosi, patron of those who suffer from cancer.
St. Peregrine, thou who wast miraculously healed by Our Lord from the scourge of cancer, join thy prayers to ours for our sister Coreen. If it be God's will, let her miraculous healing show forth His glory; let her have freedom from pain, peace, and a sure trust in our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. We pray this in His name, Amen.
Dear Lord,
Help Cori get through this difficult time. Give her the strength to fight this horrible disease.
" With God all things are possible."

In my prayers.
