Why would that be a felony? It was not presented in a court of law or anything. I could doctor mine up and post it on the internet. No law broken.

Perhaps; I am not a lawyer. Still, it seems very unlikely to me that anybody would go there, or even put his name and signature under a forgery as that “state registrar” Onaka apparently would have done if it wasn’t real. Sure, it is possible. Just very unlikely, I believe.

This whole PDF-layer theory does not hold water, either. That does not mean it couldn’t be a forgery, it’s just that this layer thing is no evidence for a forgery.

If they hired a professional forger, like the guy who made the Hitler diaries 30 years ago, he would do it on paper, not in Photoshop. The guy who wrote the Hitler diaries was so good that the first professional experts who evaluated them were fooled, independently, even though they had the actual books in their hands, on paper! It’s just that so far, there is absolutely no evidence that any of this happened, so I consider it to be very unlikely.
