Maybe you can help name the area....last summer wifey and I drove from the east on I-80 and passed through some unnamed area that is obviously a winter resort area; kind of in a 'bowl' just before the Interstate begins that big drop-down into SLC.
Try as we might, we could see nothing which would identify this area. All I know is we didn't pass Robert Redford on the highway.

We came out of SLC airport, a short ride east on 80 then to Rt.40 into the Wasatch. So I have not seen that part of Rt. 80 that comes in from the east before it hits 40.
If I wasn’t an ocean lover I’d abandon Jersey for UT in a heartbeat (if Mrs. JimRed let me get away with it, that is)!

Oops, sorry...didnt see you meant utah..just saw the before dropped part...assumed you meant donner summit...I do remember seeing the place you described before, but cant remember the name
