Missouri’s Democratic governor Jay Nixon way back last year on September 14, 2010 life was put into jeopardy by a knife welding, bullet resistant vest wearing stalker. Casey Brezik charged the crowd welding a 6 inch knife and thinking he was slashing the throat of the Governor did cut the throat of dean Al Dimmit Jr. Governor Nixon was speaking at Metropolitan Community College when he was attacked.
Brezik was wrestled to ground and disarmed. He was summarily arrested and charged with Attempted Murder.
Now raise your hands how many of you had heard about this? Anyone....Bueller.... Bueller.
With all the hackles raised of "Right Winged" Conservative hate rhetoric you would think this would have got the ball rolling right? I mean the hateful rhetoric has been going on for years right? Here a DEMOCRAT Governor was attacked and almost killed, surely a case could have been made the Sarah Palin caused this too.
But yet not one of the "Mainstream" media outlets had this story.
Why?
Well it is because it did not fit the template.
You see Casey Brezik was an anti-Christian, anti-capitalist leftist who participated in a number of leftwing protests. He was also a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic.

"In his “About Me” box on Facebook, Brezik listed as his favorite quotation one from progressive poster boy, Che Guevara. The quote begins “Our every action is a battle cry against imperialism” and gets more belligerent from there. On his wall postings, Brezik ranted, “How are we the radical(s) (left) to confront the NEW RIGHT, if we avoid confrontation all together?” As good as his word, Brezik’s marched on Toronto in June 2010 to protest the G20 Summit, where he was arrested, charged, and deported. “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED,” he boasted."
Knowing what we now know about Arizona two things become very clear. First if Governor Jay Nixon had been injured, the Mainstream media and Liberals alike would have jumped on the story lamenting the tea party movement and right winged rhetoric. Second, even if the injuries where as they were, but Casey Brezil listed himself as a Talk Radio listener or Sarah Palin fan on his Facebook wall the media would have covered it exactly the way Arizona was covered. Since, however, Brezik was a Progressive radical it apparently wasn't news worthy enough.
Now tell me again how the Teaparty folks are the radical ones?
Kind of like the attempted fireboming at the home of Jan Brewer’s chief of staff.
It didn’t fit the right wing violence agenda so it wasn’t important enough for news.

We live in an age of such deceptive propaganda. We are immersed in it.
It is hard for most to even know that they are immersed in propaganda, because they do not know what they are not told.
I can’t believe I never saw a news report about this on FR at the time of the incident.
I don’t think FOX was even aware of it themselves. Glenn Beck talked about it today and said he only heard about it himself yesterday.
I don’t know how it works but I suppose a local affiliate could decide against sending on up the line. It looks like the local papers gave it minimal coverage.

ALL of TV and 99.8% of the news media is evil. Prince Al Waleed’s Fox is only marginally better.
The only decent news media is IBD, UK Telegraph, UK Daily Mail.

Wait, perhaps I’m wrong. Now that I think of it, I never had that urge.
It did make the local news, but was really downplayed.
Governor wasn’t in the room yet, IIRC.
Why?
Because the governor was not even present when the stabbing took place and the police did not even announce that he had been the intended target until two days later.
Also no one was killed.
The story was covered by the Missouri "main stream media" at the time and was also covered by the Huffington Post.
It must have been very well hidden for Freepers to miss it.
A guy referred to as dean Al Dimmit Jr. is the one who was attracted, not the Governor. So how is it correct to then say that governor [sic] Jay Nixon was the one attacked. And what is a lower case dean supposed to be?

If the blogger's grammar is any indication, he has little by way of reporting skills. I'm tempted to call bulshit on the story. No wonder noone picked it up.

That’s not true man. They are about the same as Fox. Highly unpredictable. After Cheney shot that guy Telegraph carries a leftist column where the guy is laughing happy that a conservative shot another conservative. I’ve spent a lot of time in Europe & I know. You’re probably letting your eurocentric view bias how you see things.
American media is very different from european media. Unless you’ve spent a lot of time in both places you just don’t know that.
