One of the stupidest things the GOP did was to outlaw online poker in the USA, it cost them big in the 2006 elections. Real freedom allows people to gamble their money if they want to.

It’s a pretty safe bet that if Harry Reid (D- Casinos, Inc. Nev.) supports it that only certain “accredited gaming” licensees will be able to offer it.

Reid's legislation is widely supported by big casino operators.
This by no means should be associated with the fact that Reid collected more votes than voters entering the polls in Las Vegas and Reno, where major gaming operations rule the roost.
Move along, nothing to see here.

In September, Denver Broncos wide receiver, Kenny McKinley, apparently killed himself at least partly because of gambling debts. He apparently killed himself? Is he still alive?
Or, did he kill himself, apparently because of gambling debts?

I'm not a fan of gambling, but the GOP needs to pick better fights than this. They should be focusing on the size and scope of the federal government rather than on gambling. Many people like to gamble. Some of them shouldn't be doing this, specifically those on the government dole. But the GOP going after gambling is a good way to scare off the independent voters that don't like the government telling them what to do with their money.
