Glenn Beck, think before you preach (he implied that Geert Wilders is a fascist)
Atlas Shrugs ^ | March 8, 2010 | Pamela Geller

Posted on 03/08/2010 8:14:27 PM PST by Free ThinkerNY

Something very disturbing happened today on FOX. Glenn Beck who has, for the most part, steered clear of jihad, sharia and Islamic supremacism put his toe in the water and for the first time since I started fighting the long war, I got nervous.

Beck just called Wilders a fascist, and far-right.

He also mixed up Dominique de Villepin with Jean Marie Le Pen.

What is he doing?

Why would he stigmatize Wilders this way? Wilders is the embodiment of what our founding fathers extolled. Individual rights. Freedom of speech. Not sharia law.

Was Beck saying that the UK was right to ban Wilders in the interest of "community harmony?" And the fact that he was allowed to enter the UK last week was a dire sign?

He runs videos of the riots in Greece but never runs the Muslim rampages throughout Europe.

Beck is out of his depth in this. You cannot get up to speed on Europe in one crash course. The Islamic/left wing fringe is everywhere but what right fringe is he talking about in Europe? It can't be Le Pen, he is nowhere. Is this going after SIOE, the EDL?

Is this going to be be Beck's narrative? If so he is wrong. And he ought to be silent t until he learns everything.

Beck could destroy the freedom movement in Europe -- and the US -- if he erroneously stigmatizes it as fascist. The little green monster is one thing, and Glenn Beck is another.

I implied that Beck does have a point, as does Geller.
Wilder is simply trying to protect European identity via the correcting of past and current European immigration laws, which opened the doors for the steady influx of Muslims migrating to Europe. The same problem persists in the UK, and elsewhere. Wilder simply has been the first to have the man dangles to take the stance he has.

I am not attacking Wilder here nor am I necessarily defending him. I merely stated that both Beck and Geller are walking on egg shells here with their positions.

Beck doesn’t know what a Fascist is. For that, he can be forgiven because it’s been deliberately misidentified almost from the start.

It’s not a rightwing ideology. It’s more like militant socialism on a nationalist framework.

But it is nearly as far left as communism. It’s more of a cousin.

It's over in England. BNP were common sense and not Islamic collaborators. Western Europe still has a chance - you can stick a fork in England. Labour, Lib Dems and Tories will let the Saudis take over as indigenous English people who can afford to leave are fleeing. Wilders is not the BNP too. What amazes me is people, even here, are totally clueless of 1000 years ++ of European history with Islam. Do some people here at least understand the words of the Marine hymm when the mention "the shores of tripoli?" History repeats itself.

This is scary. The Saudis owned a small (?) % of FOX a few years ago but just recently bought more and now we see the results. FOX the pro-Islam network. This would be like Nazis in ‘42 buying shares of radio news programs.

In post #17, you appear to be comparing Wilder’s anti-islamisation views with Hitler’s anti-Jewish views. Maybe you weren’t but that’s how it looks.

O'Reilly's constant mantra of moral equivalency is rubbing off on his current main squeeze, Beck.....i.e.,the Republicans are as bad as the Dims, Bush is as bad as Obama, ad nauseaum.

Therefore, Beck has to find an equivalent when he rails against Hitler, Stalin, Marx or whoever. If he can't find one, he makes one up....just "to be fair", like that limp noodle, O'Reilly.

Hence, the Texan is as bad as the incumbent Illinoisan, and the living Dutchman is as bad as the dead German.

I hope Beck distances himself as far and as quickly as possible from the Bloviator and becomes his own man.....or he's going to go down the tank.

He's getting giddy with his own success....and I don't think he's getting enough sleep, to boot (2 to 5 hours a night, plus two media shows a day plus his road show gigs).

He's got to guard against loose lips and getting reckless when laboring under such a schedule and such pressure.

You can never let your guard down and discount fascism in Europe.

It's little different than the stuff they've had floating around for the last 1000 years, and every now and then it takes over and causes no end of troubles.

We are talking about Europe, not America. The two areas are incredibly different. America, for example, is one of the world's truly great multi-ethnic, densely populated mega-nations. Europe is struggling to keep what little unity they have together, and this tussle with Greece and its debt may bring down the primary structure ~ not just the Euro!

It's like freezing and thawing ~ the "phase changes". Europe can switch on a dime and this Moslem thing is probably going to flip that switch. I can't predict exactly what will happen, but Europeans can be remarkably persistent. They spent 500 years to bring Spain back into Christendom (for example).

With the fascists riding high they disposed of the last two great immigrant groups ~ the Jews and the Gypsies. Presumably they will dispose of the more recent immigrant groups!

I doubt Obama and his crowd are prepared to deal with this.

Have you ever read a book in school? The famous quote went over your head. Guess they do not read a lot of Shakesphere at the madrassa.

No you have no clue of history and Islam. Your childish “walking eggshells” comment is foolish. You are an idiot.

7% but my guess is Murdoch also got a line of credit in the tens of billions from the Saudis for Fox.

Murdoch is no friend. He supported Blair and his Islamification of the UK.

Many people confuse nationalism with fascism. I guess nowadays trying to stop the takeover of your country from invading hordes is also considered fascism.

Nope, not to the extent that you percieve. I was merely making a point concerning fascism and what [a] past historical figure(s) of that political nature stipulated and saw as a threat: Jews to Hitler, and now, Islamification of Europe by Wilders.
