If you have ever wondered why the DUmmies continually act like Charlie Brown attempting to kick the football that Lucy inevitably pulls away, this THREAD titled, “I think the tipping point has been reached” gives the explanation as to why they won’t quit trying. They think that THIS TIME is when Lucy won’t yank away the football. THIS TIME the Acme Co. package WON’T blow up in the DUmmie Coyote’s face. And when they go flying into the air AGAIN and hear the Road Runner go “BEEP! BEEP” into the distance, why will dust themselves off AGAIN in the belief that the very next time will prove to be that oh so elusive tipping point. You can sense it at parties, on the street, in the stores and in the general mood of th the public. I have heard, "Did you see the profit that Exxon is pulling down?" during discussions of gas prices. I have heard numerous Bush supporters, including a friend I have been unable to budge for years, say they're fed up with the war and the economy and the lies and the scandals. I am hearing much concern that Iran will be next with no one but no one voicing approval. I'm even hearing jokes about the ever-vacationing president.

ExxonMobil, the biggest American oil company is small potatoes compared to the top 12 state-owned oil producers. Saudi Arabian Oil Company BY ITSELF control about 10 times as much oil as ExxonMobile. In terms of production, ExxonMobil actually looks better. They appear to be able to produce oil more efficiently than many state run oil companies. But it still amounts to about 2% of world oil production.

I've always noticed that in September...people seem to be more receptive to political messages (whether positive or negative)... perhaps because it is after a long holiday, and people are starting back to school or otherwise getting more serious about their work. And there's more eyes on tv... with the new tv season starting.

Causes me to reflect that Bush has eased off on the fear pedal since the election, and people are now probably a bit more relaxed. This would allow him to ramp up the fear machine nicely just in time for the 2006 elections, without putting people past the tipping point.

I sense a sea change, and I don't think it is going to subside. People are waking up, and the only thing that will distract them at this point is lower gas prices and a decrease in fatalities in the sandbox and Afghanistan...and those greedy pigs are not gonna make that happen! The sun came up this morning, bright and hazy and humid beneath the clear blue clouds. It was an ominous sign. In fact, it woke me up before my alarm, because the blinds weren't closed all the way in my room. D*mn hotel.
Oh, well, at least the brunch was good.
I'm going with the "Miami Vice" look today: black t, white sportcoat, slicked-back hair, a little growth of beard stubble. The girl at the front desk was giving me the eye, I could tell.
I'm getting a cappucino to go and am on the way in.
Charlie would you please stop by that cigar store for me? It's in Okland Park on the main drag toward A1A, on the left side next door to a shoe store.

I arrive at Camp Li'l Beaver and see the tired, haggard faces of true loyal DUFU fans waiting for their ping. But over at the DUFU Mansion, I bet PJ-Comix is still sleeping off his bender from last night. The swine.
And so we maintain the vigil, standing in this sinkhole outside the Comix compound.
There is a rumor going around the camp that PJ, just to spite us, may not come out with either an AM or a PM edition today! Not One D*mn DUFU Day!
But we'll be standing here in this humid, dirty, miserable sinkhole--this LOUSY FREEPER HOLE!!!--until he does.
I think I see the media arriving. Got to check my look for interviews. Out.

I just finished being interviewed by a journalist from another blog. And then I interviewed him. We will be appearing on each other's blog sometime later today.
Meanwhile, we stand and wait. We stand and wait, waiting for PJ to get his @$$ in gear and get a new DUFU up and running. We stand. We wait. Seconds turn to minutes, and minutes turn to quarter-hours. Campers are starting to break out the backgammon games.
To pass the time, I am smoking a fine Panamanian cigar I picked up at a little cigar store on the way in. I think it complements my outfit nicely.
There's this moth that keeps fluttering around here, ominously. It could be nothing, but still. . . .

Got my lunch to go, as I feel it's my duty to stand with my sisters and brothers of the sinkhole.
So now I'm back at Camp Li'l Beaver, sitting in a lawnchair, trying to balance this styrofoam container on my lap. It's not easy, I tell you, especially when you're trying to keep white pants clean.
Campers are continuing to sing. They're starting to get on my nerves, to be honest with you. They're doing Broadway show tunes again. We're getting the whole Rodgers & Hammerstein oeuvre.
Meanwhile, DUFU Mansion looms, ominously, in the distance. No sign of any "computer repair persons" coming in or out. So much for Comix's flimsy excuse.
D*mn! I got a spot on my sportcoat! I am hating Florida right now.
Watch out for the "fire" leeches in the bottom of that sink hole. I hear they can give you a hot foot in a matter of seconds!
Then you will really have a reason to hate FL!
