CHICAGO -- Minister Louis Farrakhan, head of the Nation of Islam, spoke from a podium draped in the red, black and green of the Pan-African flag, a symbol of black pride.
It was the week after Donald Trump won the presidency. The result had delighted a new generation of white supremacists, and Farrakhan was analyzing the political landscape.
In a speech before the State of the Black World Conference in New Jersey, he warned, "The white man is going to push. He's putting in place the very thing that will limit the freedom of others." Then he pointed to the crowd, smiled and said, "That's what you needed," as motivation to finally separate from whites....

True enough,he did!
Sierra Leone, too.
I just love it when black Americans talk like you just did in your post. One day may we be able to just say American- Americans. Your words stick it in the eye of those who continually seek to divide us by color rather than by ideology and character and values. I have no use for this current crop of so-called black leaders. My American black hero is Martin Luther King jr. . And he would be scandalized by those who are trying to separate black Americans from the rest of us. He would be scandalized by those who are promoting and teaching them to burn the American flag, he wasn’t even against the Confederate flag. He wanted us all joined as one family.
When both sides leave, that’s pretty much game over.
There’s nobody to visit.
Surely one of those donation web sites can be established to cover the costs of transportation via containerized ships.
Oh, we still had relatives down south, but in those days, the distance was too great to easily visit them.
As the older folks died off, the connections did too.
Yes, he would, as I've often reminded other blacks.
By the 1970s, most of the racial division in this country had evaporated, but some blacks insisted upon keeping that fire burning. Fast forward to the age of Obama, and they act like the civil rights era (and the attendant gains) never happened.
It's an evil lie, meant to perpetuate the divisions that have caused so much harm to our country.
No, the results delighted average white people who are fed up with Farrakhan and the rest of the leftist racists led by their chief Hussein Obama shoving their hate and bigotry down our throats and inciting blacks to attack white people for being white.
I had a neighbor for a number of years, well liked by all of us on the street, we were a tight bunch. He was a retired civil servant, he and his wife were originally from Jamaica. Salt of the earth folks.
It used to really frost him when someone referred to them as “blacks” or worse “Afro-Americans”. He said, “we’re Jamaican, we’re not black.” He was insulted.
Studies already show the removal of Blacks and their need for our taxes to support welfare, lack of education and crime would move us back into the top 2% internationally in terms of low taxes, high educational and achievement levels and public safety.
BTT
MLK said that black separatists like the NOI were as bad and wrong headed as the KKK.
It seems there are daily calls for blacks to be separated from the white devils. Let’em.
It's a bizarre syndrome.
That’s hysterical. Where do you come from?
I’m in NYC. Pop was born in Italy, along with the 4 grandparents, and mom was born here :)
On that same note, I never knew anyone who didn't have a uncle in the "mob" either. (:
lol. What mob? The mafia doesn’t exist :)
