My views on Donald Trump:

I believe Trump is a stealth candidate. I have as much a sense of dread of his becoming president as I do of a Dem's becoming president.

I am scared bloody spitless because I see Trump as the wolf courting a lonely, jilted woman. Observing her desperation, he says all the right things and successfully woos her into his bed. After his conquest, he will drift back to his true persona. He can't help it. He is what he is. (I thought it was a scary irony when he read the lyrics of "The Snake" at one of his rallies.)

Please understand that I will not be able to vote for Trump with a clear conscience and will, therefore, refrain from voting for the top of the ticket should he be the Republican nominee. In fact, if he does become the nominee, I will consider that to be an indication that a large portion of the electorate has swung over into scorched earth territory, at which time I will hang up my conservative hat and walk away from any further participation in the system. Rush is not the only one who can count the stitches on a fast ball.

Added Feb. 20, 2016 (10 p.m. Central) - Video not allowed by the powers that be: How Donald Trump Answers a Question It's unfortunate because the study of his use of language is both interesting and revealing. Before the thread got yanked, I saw a couple of posts by FReepers who understood the technique. Kudos to those FReepers!

Here's another video that would probably get yanked, so I'll save the Mods the trouble and post it here: Donald Trump's Most Idiotic Moments. I'm not recommending the entire video. Most of it you've probably already heard. But there are a few places to watch for. Queue up to 4:40 - 5:14 ("worked out very well for me), then 5:23 - 5:39 ("because of my genius"), and 16:16 - 16:22 ("they'll do what I tell them to do"). In the first instance, he reveals that he had no concern for those who were hurt by his bankruptcies, that the only important thing was that things worked out well for him. Hmmmm. Nice value system for a president, don't you think. In the second clip, he insists he's a genius because ??? Can you say "bankruptcies"? This could be comparable to Obama's claiming to be genius in the way he's handled the Middle East. In what world are you a genius after you muck up things? As for the third clip, I believe that tells you what kind of approach he would take in his duties as POTUS. This man scares me so much, I can hardly catch my breath.

The government that can do everything for you is the same government that can do anything to you.

I found FR in August of '98 after hearing a caller on Hannity & Colmes make reference to it. I posted under a different name for a few months before changing to ru4liberty.

Thanks, JimRob, for this incredible forum.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
