I don't remember how I stumbled onto Free Republic but now it seems like I couldn't live without it, like breathing.

Granted, a lot of what I participate in is bull sessions about nuclear war and stuff, but even when I don't post I'm always learning.

I still read the newspaper, I even skim the dreaded New York Times. However, if I dropped my subscriptions I still think I would stay pretty well informed on Free Republic. I think I'm a good 6-12 hours ahead of non-Freepers on various topics, due to the fact that there are some very smart people here.
