We are real happy about being near all the civil and revolutionary historical sites.
Good luck with the move!
Stay in touch we'd love to meet you. Cowpens won't be far from us, we'd love to visit one of the sites with you.
Must be the place to be!
We are about 3 hours east of Salina, so that would not be on your way I reckon. I assume that you are going downto Oklahoma to pick up I-40 to head over to N.C.?

If we came into Kansas City could we catch I40 from there? We could spend the night in KC instead of Wichita. We'll get the map out....
Looks like we could go 70 to 55 heading for Jackson Tn. Then we could look for a place in KC. Will you be on nights Monday night? Looks like we were planning to be in Wichita Monday night, we could switch to KC.
DO a mapquest gig?
I looked at going out to Portland for our vacation this year and according to Mapquest, IIRC, It was a 25 hour drive. From KC you would take I-70 to St. louis and take I-64 to I-40 I think?
25 hours would be about 3 days at 8 hours a day:-) Charlotee from KC would be about the same distance or less I reckon.
I can probably offer a big pot of stew or something and a back yard for Sarge to run around in.
Let Me know
good luck on the move

Warning, warning. This big ol dog is pretty rowdy. He's big for a pup and still likes to jump and is strong enough to knock folks over. You made want to rethink it?
Hey, you're right, 25 hours. It's only 15 more to NC! You could skip Portland this summer and do NC!
The spelling curse of the Foxhole.
Our first reaction was COOL, but then we thought about Sarge and all the kiddies you have and I'd hate for that dang dog to knock 'em over or scratch him. We are still daily trying to teach him DOWN. He's so stubborn.
No kiddes on the weekend,he he he
FWIW the mapquest route from KC to Oregon City was the shorter route than the one I had figured.
I figure if y'all are heading out tomorrow that would put you in KC on Saturday afternoon or evening. Friday evening if you and SAM are really hardcore road warriors>.
Anways the offer is still good. Just let me know KC would be at leatst half way if not over half way.

We aren't leaving until Saturday mid day. That's when the movers show up. I think I figured Monday night.
Wow, good luck and please keep us posted.
Prayers for your safe travel.

No Need Is Too Trivial
Read:

Several mothers of small children were sharing encouraging answers to prayer. One woman admitted that she felt selfish when she troubled God with her personal needs. "Compared with the huge global needs God faces," she explained, "my circumstances must seem trivial to Him."
Moments later, her little son pinched his fingers in a door and ran screaming to his mother. She didn't say, "How selfish of you to bother me with your throbbing fingers when I'm busy!" No, she showed him great compassion and tenderness.
As Psalm 103:13 reminds us, this is the response of love, both human and divine. In Isaiah 49, God said that even though a mother may forget to have compassion on her child, the Lord never forgets His children (v.15). God assured His people, "I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands" (v.16).
Such intimacy with God belongs to those who fear Him, and who rely on Him rather than on themselves. As that child with throbbing fingers ran freely to his mother, so may we run to God with our daily problems.
Our compassionate God doesn't neglect others to respond to your concerns. He has limitless time and love for each of His children. No need is too trivial for Him. Joanie Yoder
God bears the world's weight on His shoulder, and He holds His children in the palm of His hand.
