Dear SAMWolf,Thanks for the photo!I first visited St.Mere Eglise in Dec.1985.Being a student of WWII,going to Normandy was the fulfillment of a dream!!I remember making a rather gracious contribution to the church in exchange(so to speak)for purloining a prayer-book.I have it to this day.A week after I was in Normandy,I went to London to visit some buddies(prior to sailing back on QE2),and met a charming(and gorgeous)young Londoner whom I married!!!

You're welcome bandleader.

To visit the Normandy battlefields would be the the only reason I would ever go to france. I did manage to visit the Bulge battlefields in 1971 and it was awesome to see the places I had only read about.

Dear SAMWolf,Please don't mention to The Normans that they reside in France!Normandy is NOT France!!I want very much to go to Bastogne.Patton's Spearhead(4th Armored)is reputed to have saved The 101st(Screaming Eagles)Airborne Division.Don't try that one on a"Screaming Eagle"!!!!!!!

I always heard that the 101st didin't need saving. LOL! Nice to know Normans don't like the french either.

Been to Bastonge and the surrounding area, some really nice museums and memorials there.
