Spoken like someone who wants socialized medicine.
I suppose that line of thinking is no more irrational than repeatedly trying the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
The Republican party is being destroyed by the principleless moderates who have taken over the party through deceipt. What the heck is conservative about doubling or trippling the size of the Department of Education? It needs to be eliminated. Think it will ever be eliminated by any of the current Republicans? What the heck is conservative about rewarding law breakers? What is conservative about punishing the tax payer by spending HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF OUR MONEY PROPPING UP THE PRICE OF A SINGLE COMMODITY, houses? It’s so beyond stupid and so patently anti-capitalist. Yet here we have the vast majority of Republicans unable to grasp this concept and understand the complete folly of what was done. Instead, they blindly followed the president on this, because he said “Its a crisis” and the MSM was more than willing to carry the water on this one because that is what they do bets.
Look at Pa. I think some of those blue spots might go red this time (Scranton, Allentown)
I used to think the same way. But if you look at all the Big Government programs Roosevelt put in place, they are all here and getting bigger. The damage a liberal government does is permanant. If Obama creates new entitlements, the most a future conservative government could do would be to slow their growth.
Depends. Is one of your principles to let the guy win who will make a bigger government that you will live with the rest of your life in the vain hope of teaching someone a lesson?
I mean really, if you think that you'd ever get someone into the Presidency that would eliminate socialized medicine once it is installed, you are deluded.
Get McCain to publicly state and pinky swear that he'll allow Palin and other fiscal conservatives to to help shape his policy agenda, and never again utter the word "bipartisan", and I might consider it.
Otherwise, I see Palin getting lost in the shuffle as he reaches across the aisle.
Wow! “what he said”!!!!!
My thoughts to a “t” .
This country will have a new face, never to return to what we once knew.
The bigger problem is even is McCain can pull out the old comeback kid routine he is famous for...
What exactly will they do?
There are so many corrupt politicians in our system and we have a media engine this is bent on ruining our great way of life.
Hard to imagine you can have people in this country that want to see us fail!
But then again to 60%+ people in this country a relationship with Bill Ayers doesn’t matter.
Zoom ahead 30 years we will have a candidate that sat on a board with Bin Laden, etc and America will say it doesn’t matter.
Sheeple and their short attention span...
I think you got the wrong guy.
I’ll believe that when it’s obviously too late. Till then I’m required to pray and do what I can.
oh joy another lemming for the left.
Mega dittoes. It's the high colonic it needs to finally purge itself of the parasitic neocons.
Taking advice from Medved? Why not consult George McGovern next? With "friends" like Medved, the GOP doesn't need enemies.
Which is precisely what's been said since first electing the nebbish Poppy Bush...and how has that worked out for you?
I also remember when the managing editor of Reason Magazine endorsed Bill Clinton in 1992 ... for essentially the same reasons given here.
People like you are why we are having to put up with Reid and Pelosi... and I would say that is much worse than whatever you can fling my way.
Good grief.
The country ALREADY has a “new face.” If you think that continuing to vote for George Bush and George W Bush and John McCain is going to do ANYTHING other than put Fascism v2.0 in power, then I wonder who is the fool. The ONLY way to stop the big government juggernaut is refuse to support the liars until they truly support liberty in lieu of socialism. Picking Sarah Palin as a running mate is not what I had in mind, here (although I love Sarah, and I may wind up voting McCain just because of her).
I despise Obambi, but the only thing worse is the timorous "bend-over-smile-and-take-it" betrayal of principles we've been asked to make our SOP the last two decades. The GOP won with Bush in 2000 and 2004 but at the cost of its soul.
