Is it true that he's been broadcasting from NY this week - i.e., he hasn't returned to Florida?

320 mgs???
I've heard from observers that a hardcore oxycodone junkie will chew up an 80mg at once....that's like 8-11 Percocets/Percodans.
I think Percs come in 7.5 and 10mg dosage. Oxycotin has no tylenol or aspirin I assume?
320mg of Oxycotin is a slew of Percs in a day...whew!
I have been away from recreational drug use for almost 25 years now....I don't think I ever took over 4 Percodans at one time for a buzz. 320 would be 8 times that dosage...incredible.
I'm curious...if someone is chipping that hard, why not just dose on dilaudid, or morphine sulphate or heroin?
Heroin is a better buzz and cheaper these days...snorted or smoked from what I hear....

He usually broadcasts from Florida.
I wish him all the best kicking his addiction, if he has one, or going after the Enquirer if this was all a screwjob.

Yes, there are such things as "functional" addicts, but as I said it leads to other addictions and contradictory behaviors. Also, the addiction is never static, it must be dealt with or it eventually destroys the addict. How could a barbituate addict possibly recover in time to perform in time for a public event? If your functional addict was ingesting an equivalent amount of alchohol to 30 pills of a powerful barbituate, he could not wake up in time for work the next morning. I don't know anything about barbituates, but the alcoholic I know would sleep maybe four hours a night, because, as you know, it is typical for alcoholics to fall into a deep sleep from the alcohol, but then wake up too early and not be able to go back to sleep. The alcoholic I know would wake up around 4am every morning and do stuff on the computer (like games.)
Rush Limbaugh has a very busy schedule. He does not have the ability to be known as being different "after hours" without being found out. In addition, we are talking about a very large number of pills per day and a very powerful drug. It is like saying a herion addict who shoots up every day could successfully be in front of the public the way Limbaugh is. I cannot imagine it.
I have no idea, once again, how these different drugs work, but I did know a few guys in college who did cocaine along with their college courses.
It is interesting that you pointed out that the person you knew was a chain-smoker. It sounds like it would be part of his addiction. I would wager that part of his "after-hours" behaviors included any or all of the above; gambling, hookers, or other high risk activities.
No, the addict I know did not and does not do any of that stuff. I did know a gambling addict, who was also an overeater, and sadly, he never got it together.
Rush Limbaugh is an ex-smoker. He gave up his addiction to cigarettes. He entered into a committed relationship and has stayed married. He regularly goes to speaking engagements and public events. He is well prepared for his show and is well informed with no lapse in preparation or knowledge. How is he leading a double life? I just do not see it.
Truly, that all makes sense, what you say, but I only consider the possibility because of the addicts I have known who have carried on big careers and earned lots of money-- and yes, sometimes got divorced because their spouse didn't want to be an enabler.

YOU NEVER HAVE EXPLAIN WHAT YOU DON'T SAY.
- in or out of court, as the accused or plaintiff.
Anything Rush could say would only be another headline.
Semester after semester of law school classes teach rules of evidence. Common sense does not apply.

I know folks with pretty strong fentanyl patches that seem fine...aside from serious constipation.
I think Rush is alleged to also have bought a lot of hydrocodone as well which can come in doses as low as 2.5mg and someone with a high tolerance could indeed take 30 of those in a 24 hour period and function.
Drug addiction and tolerance build-up is a slow process and someone with Rush's obvious will and strength of personality could possibly "carry-on" if high tolerance was achieved.
I know an ex-cop who was an opiate junkie and he told me he would take 10 10mg hydrocodones just to get going. That is a lot of Lortab.
Note I say alleged...

25 years ago I was a lefty and a dope user....
I doubt Rush had even smoked a joint then....
Btw....I said I used drugs recreationally...to get high. I was never an addict to anything but cigarettes and quit that at 30. But I did try about every drug available between 15 and 22....and smoked weed chronic.
Were I to choose to be a serious dopehead, I would opt for the opiates ..no doubt....course you'd be buying milk of magnesia by the case..lol
Now with 8 dependents more or less and millions in debt, it's not much of an option. However were I dying painfully, I'd be mighty grateful for some kind elixir
Like Val Kilmer says in Tombstone: "My hypocrisy only goes so far"

Did anyone else notice that Monday he immediately announced he was in New York? Perhaps his lawyers thought he would be subpeonaed or something and that it would be best if he left the state. He also may have needed to do another detox immediately if he is going to be questioned. Of course, I hope Rush has already beat the habit, but in case he hasn't perhaps leaving the state was the smartest thing to do.
My mother was an audiologist at the House clinic and knows a lot about the cochlear implant. She also knew that there are some medications, which, when abused, cause deafness. She didn't tell me which ones.
Yes, it is possible to build up a tolerance to opiates to the point where you could be taking an amount that would kill a brontosaurus and appear fully normal. In fact, you would need that amount or more just to BE normal. Without it you would become violently ill and possibly even die. You would surely wish you could. Kicking this habit has got to be the worst.
Rush sounds great to me every day. I sure hope he is over his habit.

It is entirely possible and most likely that the charges are false AND Rush won't sue.
