Yep, he's a tough cookie, and (obviously) has the perfect style to beat Vernon Forrest. A Mayorga-Spinks matchup would be a great one, but I highly doubt that's what Don King has in mind for this event.

The only person out there I see with a real chance of beating Mayorga is Shane Mosely. I know De La Hoya beat him I saw the fight. Unlike DLH, Mayorga will come straight at Mosely which plays directly into his counterpunching strengths. Unles he knocks Mosely out of course! Shane has a real good chin though.
