Well, you missed my point, which was that most of the people here on FR who throw around the term "RINO" aren't even Republicans at all, but regardless...I was referring to your statement that people who "throw around the term "RINO" use it for "everyone who doesn't quite fit their narrow, specialized view of the world." I was stating that I use it for candidates who actively demonstrate their disagreement with the party, not just conservatism.
There is a shallow end of the gene pool, and sad to say, most of McC's more obnoxious supporters swim there.
(Sigh...)
OK, let me explain to you what "Ye who smelt it dealt it" means, because you obviously don't get it.
When natural gas loudly makes itself manifest in a crowded and closed space, sometimes, someone will say, "Who farted?"
It is thought that much of the time -- if not all -- it is the person who says, "Who farted?" is the one who farted. In order to avoid suspicion as the culprit, they rush to accuse everyone else in the area. So the truth is, the person that asked "Who farted?" is the one who farted.
So, here you are complaining about the "incivility" of the debate, while simultaneously making reference to people who disagree with you as having "low intelligence" and in the "shallow end of the gene pool." You dealt it.
That last one sounds a lot like Al Gore referring to Oliver North supporters being part of the "extra chromosome right-wing." Aren't you better than that?

Well, considering how many in the world are blowing each other to kingdom come, perhaps Arnold is right.

If the union workers don't vote the union ticket, the union is disempowered. You think the unions will be "disempowered" just because the union's choice didn't win? And what unions do you have in mind?

I accept your first sentence as sincere. As far as the second, McClintock has been outside of the main California Republican tent so long I don't think he sees the California Republican party as a friend anyway.
To: novacation
California Republican party as a friend anyway. Then why does he call himself a republican?
To: novacation
You've got a strange way of determining truthNo, I no do have no strange way of no telling no truth... No. Completely understandable.

"they risk deepening the intra-party schism."
It is nigh unto mpossible to deepen anything at this point... This is not a forming schism or a mere risk of deep division. The party is NOT splitting, instead, we are seeing a firm confirmation that it is now permanently split. Religious Rightists versus their "moral inferiors."
Arnold on the other hand, is headed for an undeniable landslide in California, whether Tom is in or out at this stage.
When and if Thomas' loss is confirmed next week... 1/3 of the 10 percent who may still buy into his line of reasoning... will announce they have quit the republican party. After all, Tom and Judge Moore may want to run for president and veep of the USA... and lose at that too...
Will FreeRepublic go with them?
It's seeming to be a distinct possibility.
Welcome to the "sour grapes" rebellion.

It's better than the ChenyChick's stupid cartoons, photos, over and over and over. And FairOpinion with her moderate to liberal sellouts clapping after each senseless post.
Dear ducklin,
It's considered just a teeny bit impolite to make rotten comments about another Freeper without pinging them to that post.

Thanks, Tamsey, but if they did that, we would blow their silly accusations out of the water.
Duckln, dear, bless your little heart, by "FairOpinion with her moderate to liberal sellouts" do you mean, like Bill Simon, Ray Haynes, Brulte, the Orange County Lincoln Club?
I am quite happy about the company I am in. :)

I always liked this story. It has a happy ending.

Next time interview Riordan and asked him how he liked being left in the dust by Arnold when he made his surprise announcement on the Jay Leno show.

Mc Clintock is a pro life, pro gun democrat. That makes sense.
I've heard some wild ideas on this subject, but you knocked it out of the park.

Blah, blah, blah, principles, blah blah blah, RINO, blah blah, blah, neocon, blah, blah, blah.....
Stick to your "principles", and risk Bustamante. CA will NEVER elect a "true conservative" - there's just too much granola/hollywood types, etc. You've go to choose your battles wisely, and a lot of people realize that. The dilemma - it's not Tom or Arnold, it's D vs R. Period. Arnold, while not as conservative as some would like, is bettr than Cruz. Better to gain a small amount of ground, than none at all (or even lose ground).
