I agree. This was totally expected.
I was looking for something on the supposed Amicus brief by Jeb and found this. The amicus brief must have been a false alarm.

I've been absent from posting in the threads about Terri, but she's been in my prayers. Something else that I have done, is, I typed up, printed, laminated and cut out the web address for www.terrisfight.org in a large font, and pasted it inside the windows on three sides of my car. I've had many folks grabbing pencils, jotting it down and giving me a quick beep as if to say they would check it out.
Anyway, on an aside...I've been wondering if there are any country singers who might step in to give Terri a voice and a greater media exposure? Has anyone pursued this route?
What about FReeping in front of some Churches in Terri's area, and around Florida? How about in front of the various Diocese offices? Something to the effect..."Catholics against denying nutrition from the disabled! WHERE IS THE LARGER CATHOLIC VOICE?" Or where Bishops have remained neutral or worse..."Do you know this Diocese supports the death of a Disabled Woman? www...."
BTW...I am a Catholic.

Heavenly Father, thank You that You have quietly been working in the shadows on behalf of Terri ... thank You for these dear ones who have been publicly working for her, for they have focused nationwide attention on the horror of this situation. Thank You that these efforts have combined to bring the Governor of Florida into the legal realm, for he is charged with the care and protection of all the people of his state.
Gracious Father, I pray that You would grace all proceedings with wisdom and power as words are said to stop the slaughter of this child. Give heart to Terri's parents, for they have suffered much ... give strength to Terri, for she has suffered much ... give renewed testimony to all who seek justice, for surely You have heard our repeated cries. Thank You, Father, for the encouragement of Your word ... that rather than endure the unending petitions, the Judge rules righteously. We cling to hope and promise, in the name of Jesus, we praise Your holy name ... Amen

From the filing:
http://www.catholicmediacoalition.com/JebBushMotion.pdf:
"The Governor submits this memorandum to ensure that the Court consider the critical distinction between removing artificial life support and the deliberate killing of a human being by starvation and deydration. These are two different actions. The first is performed according to state law and is allowed under Florida's constitutional right to privacy. The second is prohibited by the right to life enshrined in the Florida and federal Constitutions. The Governor submits that removal of the feeding tube without first determining by medically accepted means whether the plaintiff can ingest food and water on her own, with our without rehabilitative therapy, constitutes the deprivation of her life without due process of law".
SMACKDOWN! TO JUDGE GREER:
"While many rights may be delgated to a guardian, the right to receive necessary services and rehabilitation may not. Similarly, the right to receive necessary services and rehabilitation
may not be removed by the court. The clear language, ordering and context of the statute indicates that the ward retains that right for the duration of the guardianship; there is no provision for waiving, removing, or delegating retained rights in the statute. Services to rehabilitate Terri's swallowing musculature are necessary (without them, she will surely die), and so fall within that retained right.
The guardianship court recently prohibited the provision of such therapy requested by Terri's parents. Such prohibition is impermissible in the context of Section 765.401 action to terminate life-prolonging procedures, and is an impermissible deprivation of Terri's retained rights under Florida's guardianship law and her right to life under the Florida and federal Constitutions." (All emphasis mine).
YEAH JEB!!!
"The support - caring even where there is no curing - affirms human solidarity in both directions: care-giver and care-receiver. It is a human virtue to care for those who cannot care for themselves, and in that act of caring we affirm that it is a human person we care for - not some mere physiological process."
Sorry for any misspellings - I just had to share these parts with those who may not be able to read pdf's. THIS IS SO GOOD!!

I have emailed a message of thanks to Governor Jeb Bush's office. I hope FReepers , especially those who have been hypercritical of Governor Bush , will do the same.

Thank you Iowamom, this is wonderful news. I have sent Terris web site to everyone I know, who in turn have sent it out to others. I did receive the newsletter from phenn this AM about this and sent that out too. God bless Terri and her family. Where there is life there's hope.

What a beautiful day! What a beautiful brief! Lazzara would have to be nuts (or evil) to allow Terri's feeding tube to be removed without first allowing the swallowing test, at a minimum. Thank you, Governor Bush, and thank you, Lord, for helping Jeb find the courage to take appropriate action.
BTW, today (Oct. 7) is the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, and I am grateful that Mother Mary has petitioned her Son on Terri's behalf.

I am confused about the amicus curia briefs of Crist and Bush. How can Crist seem to be on one side and the governor seem to be on the other side? Please clarify.

Phenn can you add me to the e-mail newsletter list? I didn't get anything this morning on this, and I would love to. Is it from signing up at the Terri site? I did that awhile ago, but maybe it didn't go through.....should do again?
