Bonhoeffer was a Lutheran. His writings (I've read several of his books) show a mix of both liberal and confessional Lutheranism.

Bonhoffer was a Luthern but if you really want to understand his faith read The Cost of Discipleship...That is a book that I read at least once a year....I would classify him as a Christian personalist but you can call him whatever you want...He most definitely was a believer
