throw out the Mexicans, take Mexico's oil and redistribute a portion of our oil profits to Mexico's poor. Sounds like a good plan! Mexico owes us BILLIONS for supporting its poor, and Mexico should pay for it.

Safe borders and deporting illegals, not building a police state, should be the Republican priority. It should be Mexico's responsibilty to be a police state--it's Mexico's citizens that need controlling, not America's!
The US should pressure Mexico to control their own people--possibly by restricting trade between the US and Mexico until Mexico does more to stop its people from leaving.
That way the Mexican government will look to the liberal media as the bad guys.
But I'll bet our government won't pressure Mexico to control its citizens.
I can only guess this is because somebody somewhere is making bucks from trade with Mexico, while the average American suffers from this invasion.

Lose the Dem handouts and freebies and the problem will disappear. It is cause and effect --- but you got it wrong. The reason millions of illegals and other immigrants from Mexico are solidly behind Bustamante --- he couldn't begin to hope to win without their votes --- is precisely because he believes in big government handouts, because he is a Marxist and because he's just like the politicians they have back home. They certainly aren't voting for him because they have any respect at all for the US Constitution.

But I'll bet our government won't pressure Mexico to control its citizens. No --- there was some sort of deal made. The Mexican government definitely sold out it's citizens when it was making NAFTA deals, it knew and our government knew that tens of millions would be put out of work, would lose their homes and farms. If they weren't allowed to come here and access our government programs, they'd already be overthrowing that government of theirs. It's no mystery why millions of Mexicans who once had lives, homes, and jobs in their own country are now desperate --- they've lost all that.

Cesspool de Mexico has no intention of trying to keep their leeches home. They are already screaming like mad over the latest hare-brained Boosh scam called 'lateral repatriation'. The Mexicans don't think it's very convenient for their invaders caught sneaking into Arizona to be nabbed and kicked back into the craphole known as Mexico across the Texas border. I don't either. I think they ought to be dropped from about 20,000 feet into Vicente Fox's back yard swimming pool... preferrably with him floating in it.

Illegal immigration is one of the, if not, the most destructive force for this country to deal with.

A Republican or Conservative could win without their votes if the Republicans and Conservatives would unite behind one candidate. Bustamante could not win without the vote of his loyal fellow Marxist immigrants. That vote is pretty united behind him --- in spite of his Marxism, in spite of his racism, in spite of him wanting to take Davis policies even further.

And I didn't get it wrong --- you're not going to eliminate welfare handouts in California when you've got immigrants pouring into that state who will vote for Marxists like Bustamante or Davis. Indigent people with no ability to buy health insurance or pay their own utilities are going to vote for who gets the taxpayers to provide all that for them.

Boot the givers and the takers leave, too.
You can start with helping elect a Republican Govenor in California. Beats oft repeated complaining.

And you're not going to boot the givers with millions more takers moving on in and voting them into office. We're seeing the same kind of thing in the south part of Texas --- it's going democrat very quickly because the handout programs are popular here.

America either needs to absorb Mexico, or at least the northern portion of it, and make it our 51st state...Or enforce existing immigration laws and simply deport them. Then we build a wall, like Israel is doing, and reinforce our border with the Military...Maybe include border protection duty for a month as part of graduating from Basic Training.

Illegal immigration involves, he says, a "simple but apparently unsolvable calculus: Americans want the work they won't do to be done cheaply by foreigners who, they wrongly assume, inevitably will transform themselves into Americans Here again, the myth is perpetuated that illegals only take the jobs Americans don't want. Remember when a social security check was run on all airport personnel and it was discovered that a large number of the SS #'s were invalid? The conclusion was that these people were here illegally. Then there was the janitors union in California complaining that their lifetime workers were being replaced by the cheaper labor of illegals.
It is a myth, perpetuated by the media, and now supported by this anti-illegal author, that illegals are only taking the jobs that Americans won't do. They are displacing American workers in a wider variety of fields than just "on the farm" produce.

Tonight I stopped by a Wendy's here in Tennessee. They had a young black girl taking orders (because apparently she was the only one who could speak english). The other employees were all Hispanic, and they were all speaking loudly and fast in Spanish. Not any effort at all made to speak English. None whatsoever. I asked the black woman how she understood what her co-workers were all saying, and she said, "I can't."
On my way out, I noticed that they have job applications printed in both english and spanish. Yes, it turns out that you can apply for a job with an application that has not one word of english on it!

My son worked at McDonald's while he was in high school and they had so many high school employees that his biggest complaint was insufficient hours to earn a bigger paycheck. It was a great experience, one that his fellow students competed for.
We live in the tomato capitol of the US, which once provided summer jobs for school students. Those jobs are now held by immigrants, but I don't know if they are legal immigrants or not.
As I have said before, I would gladly pay more for my produce if our country would deport all illegal immigrants.
