The attempt follows months of "practising" in the lab on hundreds of hybrid embryos made by fusing human cells with empty cow eggs, Zavos told a press conference in London.

If the human pregnancy proceeds and goes to term, the baby will be a girl, he adds.

"We've created the first human embryo for reproductive purposes," says Zavos, director of the Andrology Institute of America and associate director of the Kentucky Center for Reproductive Medicine and IVF.

I posted the title as stated from the article... but this is the research involving hybrid embryos made human cells and empty cow eggs.

Sounds like he's talking out of both sides of his mouth. If the embryo goes to term, it will be a girl. We have no intention of allowing any to go to term. So here, we have man trying to be God in creating life (of course he's using God's material to do so), "making" an embryo, and I guess aborting it once it reaches 100. Nothing unethical or unlawful there /o:<

They already have a cloned human, in Area 51. She was interviewed on Art Bell a few years ago. Anytime you hear people talking about it, it's already been done.

I told Pan_Yan that I believed the wrath of God will fall down on upon the planet, because we are playing God in the laboratory.

He said God didn't rain fire and brimstone on earth when the first test-tube baby was born, so he doubted God would intervene at this moment. (Not to say that God can't, just that he won't.)

I never used to think much about cloning or abortion, until I became a mother. And I often tell people that the creation of a human life must be a miracle, it cannot be an evolutionary event... because my physical body as well as my soul are not good enough to create such a miracle as a baby. I am not good enough, alone, to be the significant part of the process. God is there and in control.

And, if others would only start to see the miracle of life, and not discount it as biology, they may start to see that the world is filled with miracles all around us. And in valuing the miracle that is life, they may decide that they should not meddle in the affairs of the creator.
